Suns have played better defensive teams and done well, plus the Lakers were one of the worst defensive teams in the league this season. I'm sure part of the Suns shooting woes could be attributed to that, but I don't think you can attribute our 6-23 3-pt shooting on the Lakers defense.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

Nope you can't, Suns missed some open shots. But the Lakers for some reason play good enough defense to keep them in games with the suns.

That is all we need to do, stay close and hope Kobe can clutch up the win. Today, he just went cold and tried to shoot himself out of a spell.

Either way, the Suns should have had a larger lead today, by us keeping it close it does give us some hope.

          Coaching rule #4

If you have the more talented team you never let the other team dictate the style of play... You force them to play your style. Avery like last year in the finals is over thinking and not focusing on putting pressure on the opponent to keep up with Mavs as they play thier style of play

            Word.

We need 30-35 minutes of Dampier and Diop on defense. Even if we play zone, I'd much rather make them shot jumpers from the outside and uncontested layups AND open jumpers along with it. If we go small, we arent as talented as them to beat them. Our advantage is defense and rebounding, which our big men are huge factors in.

Offensively, we need to drive to the basket. GS doesnt have anyone defending the rim and settling for jumpers allows them to have a chance. That and make jumpers that we normally make and hopefully we can get this turned around next game.

Yep...I read on the TrueHoop blog (http://myespn.go.com/nba/truehoop) on ESPN that the Mavs were +8 with Diop in, -20 with him out.

Great win for the Warriors! Baron Davis had a hell of a game. I knew right when Avery Johnson changed his starting lineup Nellie already had outcoached him. This series will show how good of a coach Nelson is and how inexperienced Avery Johnson is. The Mavs are going to have trouble in this series with the Warriors. They don't matchup well. If Mavs try to go big with Dampier or Diop at center the Warriors will run them off the floor. If they go small its playing the Warriors style. Warriors have a great strategy of swarming Dirk after he makes a dribble, which forces Dirk to become a playmaker something he clearly is not comfortable doing. This is the 8th win in the past 9 games for the Warriors vs Dallas including 4 straight in Dallas.

Wow, this was a crazy weekend.

Y'know, I felt Dallas was gonna take the title, no ifs, ands, or butts about it, but now I'm not so sure.

Yeah, we all know the regular season and playoffs are two different beasts, but Dallas should have come out and put the fear of God into Golden State. Now, GS has no fear of Dallas. Dallas is gonna have a hard time taking GS out, if they win. And now, I'm not so sure they will. The Mavs seemed to play right into the Warriors' game. I think the Warriors have got into the Mavs' heads.

I'm actually looking at Phoenix as the favorites now. They really been the best team the last two months of the season. If they can get by the Spurs (if the Spurs bounce back and beat the Nuggets), I say the Suns will win it all.

Exactly, and I think Avery figured that out last night, he's a good coach, he'll figure this out and I think game 2 will go to the Mavs.

Nice win for GS last night. There's no one who would enjoy the sight of a Mavs first round flop more than me (mainly for the sheer entertainment value of Mark Cuban's reaction should it happen), but I wouldn't write Dallas off quite yet. Two years ago my Rockets took the first two games of a 1st round series in Dallas, only to lose in seven.

Dallas is a resilient and talented bunch, they will find a way to get it done.
