I find it hilarious how the media (particularly ESPN) is out to make this finals like it's so "boring" and "tedious to watch", while all they are talking about and advertising like no other is the stupid U.S. Open

That "stupid" U.S. Open is more entertaining than the finals, and I don't even like golf.

Advertisers pay a bit more to advertise on a golf tourney than a basketball series. The golf tourney will be watched by a more affluent fan. Hence why you see advertisments for mutual funds, financial services, and other high ticket items while the NBA finals gets McDonalds and Lugz commercials.

I love watching the Masters and the U.S. Open. I don't watch other golf tournaments, though.

Yes, the U.S. Open is far more entertaining than watching Cleveland miss jump shots.

I agree, I watch all 4 majors and enjoy them, but don't watch any other golf really...

I'll be watching the NBA game tonight, but primarily because I got my new tv and want to watch any game in HD...otherwise it hasn't been all that enjoyable (I watched the end of game 3, after games 1 and 2 I just couldn't take it anymore)

Why would ESPN be out to make the Finals look boring? They're the same company as ABC who is televising the dam thing. You'll have to stretch a little more.

He's the same guy that called James Worthy and Kevin Mchale role players in another thread. Pretty much all you need to know. Another kid trying to pass todays NBA off as being as good as it was in the past.

Oh, please. I'll be the first to say that the mid 90's was NBA's best era. But it's obvious that NBA does not get the best rep from the media, and ANYONE that tries to pass golf as being more exciting than the NBA Finals has no reason to even be on a basketball forum.

In fact, anyone who tries to pass golf as being more exciting than the NBA Finals shouldn't even be arguing about the sport of basketball in the first place.

I believe it was. You wanna argue about that one? The best overall batch of big men in an era, EVER, and it helps that the best player to ever lace 'em up was playing.

I'm not saying I'm an "authority", so quit putting words in my mouth. I'm just saying that anyone bragging that golf is more entertaining than the NBA Finals on a basketball forum is a waste of time to argue with on the sport of basketball.

So, as you can see, I'm wasting my time.

Yup, cause I have mentioned golf where? But yes, you did play your opinion on golf vs. the NBA as the final word. You put the words in your mouth.

Best era of big men ever? That's debatable, not to mention not sure that makes it the best era. How old are you? Did you watch any bball prior to the mid 90's?

I started watching basketball in the early 90's, and does it really matter? What, in your opinion, did the 70's/80's have that made them the "best era ever"?

And the big men thing isn't debatable. Ewing, Hakeem, Shaq, David Robinson should be enough to set that one in stone.
