Good. I hope they fall even further.

Just proved my point. Fans of the NBA come to see the other team, not their own.

Same here. Real fans of the pro game are getting fewer and fewer, replaced by those who claim to be fans but only care when their favorite team is represented.

ESPN and ABC suck at advertising and their presentation of the NBA feels too "packaged" for my tastes. The NBA made a big mistake not taking the smaller money for NBC. Ratings were always through the roof on NBC. Once ESPN/ABC came in, down they went.

But the truth is...the NBA gets the best ratings when the big market with big stars teams run deep into the playoffs. They've been snowballing badly since 1998 and Jordans retirement.

Too many average teams in the NBA now. The NBA added on too many teams that the stars are so spread out instead of having more quality teams. The rule changes have not helped either. There are no more great rivalries. There use to be the bulls vs pistons jordan era, bulls vs knicks, knicks vs heat. These series were so physical and competitive. Now if u tap someone its a flargrant foul. The refs will not let players play. Its no fun to watch anymore.

Apparently the Spurs haven't sold out game 2 yet, 1000 tickets left.

If you watched that Pistons-Cavs debacle last night, you know why NBA ratings are down.

The four teams left play the most dreary, sleep-inducing, unexciting brand of ball imaginable. Duncan hook shots....Boozer putbacks....anyone other than LeBron doing anything for Cleveland.....Pistons slowdown......

So we should see the "Will the NBA end already" thread in here like you did the college one?

Exactly. For the Utah/SA game, there was NO hype, no commercials....nothing. They just stuck into the 3 PM Sunday timeslot and thought it would do alright.

again, unless they are asking for $500 a ticket, how does one not sell out this round?

Really it should be easy. I was looking on stubhub and pistons tix are going for 44$. Compare this with Lions pre-season tickets that can go up to $100 for the cheapest (and they sell out... and they're one of the worst franchises in sports in the last 10 years). I realize there are less football games etc, but if the Lions can sell-out playoff basketball should as well (San Antonio isn't even that small, either).

The bottom line is, people are fed up with the NBA's crap.

Very poor and biased officiating, cheap shots, flopping, whining, and horrible organization and management (Stern, Jackson) are by far the real reasons why people just don't give a damn about the NBA anymore. Not a lack of Jordan, not bad presentation, not boring teams.

The garbage has become too much to tolerate, and it definitely has me rethinking my committment to this league as a fan.

                                So tired.

Great, you and the other three people watching can have a blast. The NBA is only slightly more entertaining than the WNBA. And the one semi-intriguing matchup, Suns-Spurs, was decided by David Stern.

Hey, my Mavs aren't exactly exciting to watch anymore. Avery is teaching Popovich's quicksand thug ball here now, too.
