I think you should go watch hockey instead and leave basketball alone.
If you think Violence makes sports exciting then you need some therapy.

That was such a dirty play.

If I were Amare, I would hire some friends to meet Bowen in a dark alley.

Now if only we can convince Kurt Thomas to break Duncan's leg and Bowen will retaliate by breaking Amare's ankle. Now we will have ourselves a bloody game equivalent to the NY-MIA rivalry. We will see D'Antoni holding Duncan's leg while Duncan is trying to get rid of him like a leech. If only this will happen, no one will call PHX soft ever again. If PHX will indeed transform into a physical and dirty team, DAL can seal thier hope of getting past by them healthy. I'll stop now with my sick old school NBA fantasy.

Man I'd rather listen to Mavs fans, then Spurs fans defending their team. The Spurs are dirty.

I think it was actually Szcerbiak when he was in Minnesota, but I could be wrong.

That is exactly the reason why I love the old school NBA. Almost no one is complaining about dirty tricks, it is expected. It is the playoffs, what does Amare expect anyway. Bowen baking him a cake? He probably would rather kick his tail. There are no nice guys in the playoffs as should be expected.

Sarah, I'm sorry, but I grew up watching the "old school NBA", and although there were hard fouls, you didn't have guys kicking other players, looking for injury. Guys were thrown to the floor, but it was just a hard foul. If Bowen would have came up behind him, and grabbed him... hard foul.. it happens.. it's basketball. But kicking someone is not within the confines of the game IMO.

Hard fouls is one thing but kicking someone during play and trying to seriously hurt someone is another. I don't think anyone should expect that.

That is really a shocker. You are facing a team that is willing to do whatever it takes to win the series and you only expect a hard foul? It is like Malone expecting Rodman to only give him a sport bump, not tripping his foot while running or perhaps elbowing him.

I can't believe you are even trying to defend Bowen.

I get the idea of someone willing to do anything to win but the whole idea of you should expect someone to come out and hurt you is just ridiculous, give me a break. He's dirty, it has happened numerous times before, there is no argument.

You are confusing old school tough NBA with dirty play meant to injure people.

People like Rodman, McDaniel, the Pistons played tough but they werent out to hurt people. You dont see them doing cheap shots like kicking the heels and flying kicks at people.

                      Bowen is one dirty player.

this is just silly. slowing the play down to super slow-mo and disecting it like that. at normal speed it doesn't look bad at all. you guys are out of your mind if you think that was a dirty play.

jeezuss you can't even get close to a guy anymore. i guess you "nba fans" would like to watch a HORSE contest instead where no one is allowed within 10 feet of a player with the ball.

compared to the stuff that happened back in the day this is ridiculous. to compare this to kobe blatantly elbowing numerous players in the face is ridiculous.

add amare stoudamire to the list of punk players that cry about bruce bowen. he's up there with wince carter and gay allen as far as i'm concerned.

jeez i'm getting touched! how am i going to score my forty points??? you mean i'm not allowed to waltz down the lane and dunk??? somebody call david stern!!! i'm coming back from knee surgery, no one is allowed to get close to me!

I concur WTF. What Bowen tried to do is as bad, if not worse, than what Kobe got suspended for.

okay, obviously i got carried away.

but i think it's silly how you guys say that is a dirty play. this is nba playoff basketball. the spurs aren't going to let you have a free path to the basket.

far worse went on in the 80s. the guys in this thread that are saying that the pistons never tried to hurt anyone are mistaken, quite honestly. if you didn't see those games live - go read the jordan rules by sam smith or playing for keeps by halberstam - both of those books go into detail on the pistons in the 80s and early 90s. rodman flat-out slammed pippen head first into the basket support and then proceeded to go on a classic rant about pippen and his sexual orientation while scottie tried to shoot the free throws.

bruce bowen is a half a step late and gets accused of "kicking" amare stoudamire and trying to injure him on purpose.

i apologize for inflaming the board

however, you guys are getting carried away with what you are saying about bowen.
