Thing is, this isn't the 1st time Bowen has been critized for playing dirty, cheap, whatever you want to call it so I don't think any of us are getting carried about what he did, he has a reputation.

As for the play we're talking about, Amare already had a clear path to the basket and was going up to dunk, Bowen didnt even attempt to knock the ball away yet, was a step behind/slipped/whatever and by natural reaction, kicked him in the achilles, right.

      1. he has a reputation because players have cried/whined/complained (pick whichever one you like best) about him in the past. vince carter and ray allen don't want people crowding them when they shoot jumpers. they would rather complain to the league and have stu jackson fine bowen than handle their business on the court. as much as i dislike kobe, he has refused to call bowen dirty in the past and given him credit as the guy who guards him the best.

      2. when you watch the play at full speed there is nothing wrong with it. look at his head, he is looking up at stoudamire. if he wanted to kick him in the leg he would look down at it and aim for it.

      3. there is a reason the league is not going to take action on this - it was incidental contact. if he rared back and full out kicked him in the leg, i would agree - suspend him. but he didn't.
      4. it seems like amare is being sensitive because he is coming off knee injuries. as i recall, no one "kicked" him in the knee and hurt him two years ago, he blew his knee all on his own. if you're going to be that sensitive to contact on a basketball court, maybe you should wait another year to come back.

there is going to be contact on a basketball court. it's not a dirty play every time you touch someone.

Amare blew this out of proportions IMO. The NBA was right to do nothing. It's unnoticeable with the playback on normal speed. I play it over and over and I don't see the big deal. The play where Ginobili held Amares foot (and it was not called) when Amare was going to get a pass jumps out at me way more. Amare comes across crying. "I wish the league would clean this up." LOL. It was nothing. Kobe shouldn't have been suspended for his flailing and Bowen definitely shouldn't be suspended for this.

You are kidding, right? You couldnt honestly think that thats the only reason bowen has a reputation for being dirty. What about kicking ray allen in the back

I am no fan of SA, I just like them (representing the old school method of gameplan) because it reminds me a lot of the good old days. Bowen is a good player. I bet, if Bowen is playing in PHX Amare's mouth would be bubbling trying to defend Bowen. I don't hate PHX, just players that will squawked because they can't handle the mind games of thier opponent. PHX wants to be the champion? They will have to cross THE ALAMO!!! Amare will just have to return to PHX "with his ball or upon it" (hhmm, I don't know why I am thinking of the movie 300 right now).

Well you know, Amare was clean before Bowen touch him.

There's a difference between hard play and INTENTIONALLY trying to injure someone.

People really need to get their heads out of their asses and shut the hell up.

And I guess the fact that 90% of the players in the NBA feel that Bowen is dirty doesn't count right?

Now now. I know you love SA fans when they are lossing and PHX is winning. The only time I see you guys find a common ground is when DAL was being slap silly by GS and when Shaq and Kobe went to thier separate ways.

SA answers Amare's accusations with "Love and Respect" for Amare.

I told you guys, Bowen and the SA team are actually nice people. ... when you are not playing against them.

This is true. But I'm pretty sure this isn't karate either. With the forearms, elbows, and kicks Bruce throws, you'd think he was trying out to be Jackie Chan's stunt double.

Some of the quotes highlight why I cannot stand the Spurs and their fans. To them, every player on their team is godlike and can do no wrong, no matter what happens.

Of course you don't, it's on camera. You can't see everything at normal speed on camera. He just kicked him.

Please go on Youtube and search Bruce Bowen.
