Re: Stevie Francis has got to be smiling
He's 30. He's selfish. He was losing playing time to Stephon Marbury (the same guy), Jamal Crawford (a SG that wants to be a shoot first, shoot second, think about passing then shoot third PG), and Nate Robinson (aka Marbury/Francis version of mini me). He gets paid a lot more than he was ever worth and the only way he can help the long term future of the team is to get cut and clear up capspace.
They got rid of a problem in Zach Randolph (who was getting 23 and 10) for a problem that doesn't seem to really care about his on court production. They have to get rid of him... can't run the risk of him influencing Roy and Oden.Comment

Re: Stevie Francis has got to be smiling
this is dissapointing, he was one of the reason(besides ODEN of course) that i was very excited for this season. I wanted to see what The Franchise still had in him. This makes the trade pretty crappy. They get rid of Randolph so they can pay this guy 34 million to get rid of his contract?
Will have to see how Channing Frye does this season.Last edited by Benz87; 07-11-2007, 12:04 PM.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Bucks | Milwaukee BrewersComment

Re: Stevie Francis has got to be smiling
Steve Francis, who has gone from the "Franchise" to a free agent, could be ready to bring his career back to where it began. Hours after Francis agreed to have his contract bought out by the Portland Trail Blazers, his agent, Jeff Fried, began talks with several teams — including the Rockets — to find him a home.
"There is no secret Steve has a strong affinity for Houston and for the Houston Rockets," Fried said. "We're talking to a number of teams. Steve has some thinking to do." Fried said Francis, 30, is considering the Rockets, Mavericks, Heat, Lakers and Clippers, all of whom he said have shown interest or have been receptive to pursuing Francis.Originally posted by EWRMETSMaybe the best post in OS's history.
