Kevin Durant is going to be one of the 50 greatest players of all-time. I would have taken him over Oden. Oden is the safer pick, and he can anchor your team on the defensive end and contribute on the offensive end as well. Durant on the other hand has that "it" factor. He plays with a swagger and has that creative scoring ability that the great players possess.

Re: Kevin Durant
I've been preaching this dude's gospel since he's been at Texas, and I just want to shed some light on him, because he's beasting, and I think he's the best young talent to come into the league since Lebron James.
No that's not a comparison to Lebron, so don't start. This ain't about Lebron, or Kobe or any of that.
This is about Kevin Durant.
This dude....I've never seen a player his size with his skills. He is a born shooter. A great shooter. Not good, not very good. Great. I love skill based players, and this young man is already one of the most polished 20 year olds I've ever seen. Look at his stats, look at his game, and remember that he's 20. How many players put up these percentages from the perimeter?
People's attention are drawn to dunkers, crossover artists and dynamic personalities. They often ignore the quiet killers. This guy only cares about winning, and perfecting his game. He is not an anonymous scorer who will put up numbers in this league and fade away. He's a weapon, and he's getting sharper with every single game. I'm damned impressed with his ability to eliminate mistakes on a daily basis.

Re: Kevin Durant
His numbers are completely nutty this year, especially since he switched to SF. He's only been held under 20 points 6 times in those 40 games, and has scored 25+ in 30 of those games. 48% from the field, 43% from deep (13th in the league), 86% from the line... those are RIDICULOUS numbers for someone who's barely 20.
If he were playing anywhere but OKC, he'd be a national story on a regular basis. The numbers he's putting up at this age are beyond anything we've seen for someone that ago.Last edited by Stumbleweed; 02-13-2009, 12:42 PM.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Kevin Durant
Tell 'em, ThreeKing!
Stumble, to put it in perspective, he's having as good of a year as Ray Allen HAS EVER HAD. Look at Ray's career numbers. Like you said, ridiculous and nutty. The basketball gods are offended by the lack of worship their newest son is receiving.
Mark my words, those assist numbers will climb, as will the rebounding and shotblocking.Comment

Re: Kevin Durant
Last 6 games: 30.8 points, 6.7 boards, 3.8 assists on 51.5% from the field, 52.6% from deep, 85.4% from the stripe (on 8 attempts per game). Those percentages are crazy for a guy who has to carry his team most nights and relies on his perimeter shot quite a bit (55% of his attempts are 2PT jumpers).Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Kevin Durant
Much like Rose, I definitely see Durant leading a championship team before he's 30. If not, it will be because of a tragedy of mismangement similar to KG wasting away in Minnesota.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Kevin Durant
Durant to me is a tough one. I know everyone is on his jock, but I never really saw the HOF potential. Could be completely wrong obviously, but I'm just saying I don't see it.
He's got range [not yet known if he has NBA range, but he had college range], handles, and is really long. I don't know, I think he's going to be fine in the league, I just don't see him dominating.

Re: Kevin Durant
We will see if he ends up dominating. For now he's a more all-around Carmelo Anthony who just ishes on every box score. I'm still not going to claim that he's going to enter the Wade/Bryant/LBJ territory at some point in his career, but I will say that he's well on his way early on.
He still doesn't really compare to any other player, I know everyone was saying K.G., Mac, Melo, Dirk, Prince [???].. but it's clear KD is in his own mold.Comment
