If a record was at hand, why wouldn't you wanna break it? Why do people try to break Guiness records all the time. There was even a TV show about Guiness records. Records are made to be broken. Track Stars all want the dubious WR in the 100 meters, aint nothing wrong with chasing a record.

This is like Hank Aaron chasing the Babe, or Maris beating out Mantle. People had big issues with those too

Of course I would. If I were Kobe I'd take 40 shots a game.

I just don't wanna see him break one of MJ's record. It doesn't feel right.

The main reason IMO for his PPG increase is basicially due to his increased 3 pt. makes and his still active Free throw attempts a game (Almost 10) Add those together and still include a lethal jumper and you've got 40 ppg.

he has the chance to break the record so why not go for it? wouldnt you? Apart from being a hell of an accomplishment it would defineatly be a great confidence booster going into the playoffs

don't mind noa, he's cool, but he's just not ready to come to grips with someone matching even one of MJ's accomplishments.

Come on now. Jordan doesnt need every record in the World. If Kobe goes 20 straight games with 40 plus points, MJ is still the best ever.
