How do you know that? You think he'd be happy if he broke all the records but lost every game...I doubt it.

Yes Shame on Phil Jackson for doing the same with Kobe as he did with Micheal. Let him break records and win NBA titles....

Kobe was clearly jacking up shots just for the record and nearly sacrificed the game for it. When most players score 40 or more points in a game it's because they shot well not because they shot more

I'd be shootin for the record too...sheesh... give the kid a break...

yeah, it's all about winning... come one... the NBA is a bunch of ball hoggin, overpaid, no team-playin ballers... so why shouldn't he go for the record?

                also, the Lakers won...

ehhhh...... i was watching the game too. And i admit 100% he forced it hard down the stretch, but then again his teammates were also force feeding him and the crowd was all over him to get 40. His first 39 points were in flow, but I admit he was clearly forcing it to get that 40th. However, he wouldn't have cost his team a win. Kobe is human and tonight for the last 4 minutes he got caught up in the record thing. Nevertheless, an impressive game by him, (if u ignore the last 4 minutes)

OMG! Everyone needs to just kinda be quiet. Kobe played well the whole game except for the last 4 minutes...if all of you were in Kobe's position, 3 minutes left, and up by 8 (which is pretty damn good and not in complete danger of letting the victory slip) you woulda done the same thing. I know I would've. Stop getting pissed about Kobe...he's doing a great job. Leave the guy alone.

                                Someone tell Kobe that.

His antics in that game were disgraceful and it shows what kind of player Kobe is becoming. Statistical acheivements are more important to him than winning.

The most important stat is the W, but those 13 fgs he made are a little bit "forced". But as long as the Lakers win and Phil is satistfy with the Lakers are playing, then there should be no debate. The only debate I see is the Kobe forces for the 40, but as long as there winning, I don't see a problem.
