Dirk is a very good player, the type of guy that could carry a team on his back? I dont think so, Garnett, Duncan, Bryant, McGrady, and Kidd have to be the top contenders till now. Kidd just energizes the entire team, so you can't sleep on him.Comment

the Lakers role players arent as good as what Dirk has around him. Kobe has Shaq, who has been hurt. Dirk has Nash, Finley, LaFrentz, and Van Exel. Those five collectively carry their team. Kobe has had to carry the Lakers almost single handedly at times.Comment

but once shaq came back it really REALLY helped kobe, because they cant conentrate only on kobe...and the records of the teams make a big difference. Like when Shaq and the lakers were on a tear in the previous years. Shaq was MVP even though he had, Kobe, and supposedly good role players, fisher, fox, horry, and the other players...Comment

Oh there you go bringing up my favorite team and second favorite player (Nowitzki). I fell Dirk would be a deserving MVP but I really need to get this off my chest...Pippen, he has made the Blazers scarey, he's controlling that team like never before. They are a serious threat for the championship now. His numbers aren't the best but he may be the most valuable to his team, cause without him they may not even dress enough players to play (I hope you know what I mean). He's teaching those young guys how to play at a championship level and they are starting to get a killer instinct about them. I feel he should at least be considered that's all. But if I had my way Nash and Nowitzki would get co-MVP's

But Dirk has other All Stars and guy who shouldve been all stars, who have had a fairly constant level of play all year long. Kobe has had to carry the team on his back to get them into a playoff spot. Shaq has helped, but not nearly as much as finley, nash, lafrentz, and van exel have helped dirk.Comment
