    Re: Best in the West

I'd go with the Suns, since they do have the best record in the West, which technically makes them the best in the West.

Give me a SOLID reason why ANYONE (including ******s) would vote for them, Denver, Houston, Port.
I don't count them in myslef, but if I would..I would give Denver a nod, because of AI and what he's capable of doing on his own.

I agree. It all depends on which night they play.

When Ariza, Bynum and Mihm return they are the deepest without a doubt in my mind.

I say it's the Lakers, but... I think it's too early to think that they're truly going to do better than the Spurs, Suns, Mavericks, and Hornets in the playoffs. It'll be interesting. They need to be at least a 4 or 5 to have a chance of getting out of the first round this year. They have a great team and as an LA fan, it makes me happy that people are talking about them and not just Kobe Bryant all the time.

I don't agree at all. This year more than any other, seeding doesn't mean much. It's not like previous years where the top 2 or 3 teams are playing a level above the rest. Right now, the Suns are the #1 seed, and there's no question that the Lakers can play with them in a 7 game series.

The Spurs will be once it's all said and done, even though they may not be the best right now.

I personally see the Lakers myself. I'm not a man of jinx but seeing that Pau never got of the first round, do you guys think that he brings his bad luck to the Lakers this year? I hope we see a Suns vs. Lakers first round only because I want to see how both teams handle the game now. Ain't no way the Spurs are taking it seeing that their pieces are too old for the long haul now. They're still the champions from last year, but this year definitely is different.

I think it'd be unfair to say either way on Gasol and the playoffs. He's never been on a team of this caliber [player wise and coaching wise], we all know what Kobe did with talented teammates.

The thing that's scary about the Lakers is that everyone knows their roles. They are very very defined, but they are missing that interior toughness [Bynum]. When they get that back in March, I see them getting things really rolling.

He was on the Grizzlies and in the Western Conference. Bad bounces and freak plays didn't keep him out of the second round, an inferior team did. The Grizzlies have never had a team that should be considered more than a first round exit in all his time there, especially not in the West, with the seeds they get.
