You weren't watching close enough then. Bynum was the main reason the Lakers were rolling. He's the main reason Kobe went from whatever to happy. I never said Bynum was better or worse than Kaman, but I said I'd take Bynum any day of the week. Bynum changes the game more than Kaman as he is more of a presence than Kaman.

The problem with using only stats is that you fail to take into account both players' situations and systems. Bynum plays in a system where he wasn't the go to option. Plus take into account he didn't even make it to the All-Star break. From what I saw in his 30 games, it's going to be scary when he joins Pau. When looking at Kaman, he plays somewhere where there's no pressure and where he gets all the touches inside with Brand hurt. He can play freely because they're expected to lose this year without Brand and Livingston.

He's more of a PF/C but seeing as he plays mostly C for the T'Wolves, I'd consider him a C until they change that. http://www.82games.com/0708/07MIN12C.HTM

Again, you said Bynum would be a top 3 center next year. I disagree with that. Kaman is a much better shotblocker (3.0 bpg) and a better rebounder. Bynum will probably be better than him in 3 years. But even if Kaman and Bynum switched situations, I can't imagine that Bynum would be averaging better numbers. Bynum doesn't create as much of his offense that Kaman does and at this point, I'd have to say Kaman is the better shotblocker and rebounder.

Rewatching the game on my DVR Tivo right now and LMAO @ the 4:17 time in the 4th where Kobe swats Shaq nasty style!

They call it a goal tend, total BS, I have it here on my DVR HD it was a clean block on the way up and all ball LOL.

I knew Kobe would swat his weak sauce one day when he started to lose his monster hops.

Hope a Youtube pops out of it, I have no way of putting it up.

But it is at the time of the game I mentioned, I recorded the local KCAL channel 9 version of the game, not the 4 letter one.

how am I anti-laker if I don't think Bynum is better than Kaman. I like the Lakers.

It's obvious your thoughts on WVU though by your signature (which has NOTHING to do with this topic, by the way)

Just to preempt my comments; in spirit I'm totally agreeing with you. I want to note though, the massive improvement of Farmar and addition of Derek Fisher is a little underrated. First off, addition by subtraction in losing Parker. But then you look at Fish and Farm, and they are both LIGHTS OUT this year. If the Lakers still had Smuch, Bynum's improvement wouldn't have been as significant as it is now that the entire team is better.

This is spot on, when KDRE [not calling you out Dre] tells me about how Bryant trashed the same teammates that are helping him win today, Fisher seems simply overlooked. His play steadies their attack on both ends. Bynum and Farmar's play were totally unexpected [both are extremely young], but I think Bynum was the catalyst of their unforeseen early success.

Anyway I think this thread has run its course as we're turning it into a Laker thread.

Sorry then, I apologize. I was referring to his point. I agree with your point that you'd rather have Bynum over Kaman on your team. But that doesn't mean that Kaman isn't the better player this year and next. Bynum's potential and the fact that he doesn't need the ball a whole lot to make an impact makes him a better fit for the long run, but he's not a top 3 center this year or next.
