Really? I'd rather give it to Paul Pierce on that team.

Anyway, I think the MVP right now is CP3.

      What are you talking about?

      Jack's situation HAPPENED

Baron's situation DID NOT; therefore would would have to MAKE UP/IMAGINE how they would be without him.

So THAT is why it isn't a valid arguments. Since when did "what ifs" because solid points of an argument?

Forget it. You're not going to listen to what I'm saying anyways.

different obviously, but in MLB, Justin Morneau won MVP without being an all-star (i dont think he should have though, Jeter should have won imo...but i digress)

Chipper Jones did the same in '99.

Man I question if some of you get high @ work.

If we are speaking about MVP of THIS year; there is NO REASON that Baron Davis' name should have been mentioned. I don't see how anyone can un-homerly disagree with that statement.

I don't have a problem with Baron getting consideration. No one in this thread said he should win it or even be in the top 3. But outside the top 3 in the MVP talks, there are lots of people you can put in for consideration depending on what you believe the MVP should be.

Uhh, 14 different players last year got some number of points in the NBA MVP voting. If Baron is one of those players this year at the end of the year. You're really gonna be that appalled? Really? He wouldn't be in my top 5 but I can understand how depending on certain criteria that someone could justify him as a top 5 candidate for MVP. Everyone has their own slightly different interpretation of the award, I can understand that.

                          Re: MVP discussion

If he isn't in ANYONE's top 5 at this point then WHY are we even mentioning his name? He has NO CHANCE of winning the award; so WHY are we speaking of him?

If anyone names ANYONE other than the REAL candidates then they are doing it for the sake of argument.

Looking back on it I am mad I am wasting time even discussing Baron Davis' place in this post.

No one ever asked you to discuss him. He's obviously in the top 5 of whoever brought him up first so that's why he mentioned his name. And yes, sometimes people to discuss things on message boards, for the sake of argument. I hear it's not that rare in fact...
