My rule change would be to revert back to the 90s when your weak links on defense would have to play defense or be the cause of your team's loss. Players who are getting praised now only play one side of the ball and not the other. The zone is nice but definitely needs to be taken away cause that's lazy defense. I want to see the skill of real basketball where it's truly 5 on 5 the whole game with flaws and mismatches being used more in gameplans. Maybe that's just me.......
I like the zone defense because it allows for a more open offensive game. With man-to-man, you can hide your worst offensive players, where-as in the zone everyone needs to be involved.

It is a pick-your-poison. Either you want the top offensive stars shining or you want solid defensive players.
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

I realized that since you're a Lakers fan, no matter what I say, it wouldn't change your mind. If it was about different players you'd probably say different things. But that's cool, every1 has their opinion, no hard feelings. We both enjoy basketball and that's what matters.

You're stereotyping me from what you've seen from other Laker fans.

If you were to look at any posts that I've made in the past, I doubt that you will find much bias. I look at these from both sides, from both perspectives.

You see that I posted another video of Raja flopping, but this time against Manu. I can't stand Manu. If I HAD to pick one player that I disliked more than anybody else, the first name that would come to mind would be Ginobli. Yet, you see that I posted another vid where Bell flopped against Manu.

It wouldn't matter if it was Kobe, Manu, or JJ Reddick. I would still feel the same way about that play.

HA! U've written Bell's name in PURPLE! Sigmund Freud would say that deeply u want Bell to be on the Lakers...LOL Ok dude, not arguing about that anymore, we've wayyyy off-topic here, anyway. Oh and just like u I hate Manu!

I like the rules just how they are, but what do you guys think of the idea of raising the basket? I heard some radio guys complain that the game is too easy for today's players.

But that would make the NBA less attractive because shorter players won't be able to dunk as they do today. It sound's logical but it would make the NBA less appealing IMO.

I don't think that would be very good for the game. Sounds like it would make the game boring...At least that's what it sounds like from what I read here:

Last summer, Newell the younger staged an exhibition at the University of Washington called For the Love of the Game, in which two teams of collegians and low-level pros -- from the CBA and overseas teams -- played with 11-foot baskets, making dunks prohibitive. Newell deemed the game a great success, but if you view the video, it's hard to get too excited. It's like watching an eighth-grade team: lots of standing around as clusters of players reach for rebounds like tossed bridal bouquets, then try to hoist the ball back up.

One advantage of 11-foot rims, however, would be that only certain NBA players could throw down, which means no more Rasho Nesterovic "dinks." Not surprisingly, though, pros scoff at the idea of raising the rim. "Ridiculous," says the Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James. "That's like taking the deep pass out of football." Even players one might expect to welcome raising the rim -- which is to say, nondunkers, which is further to say, short white guys -- don't all buy in. Kerr calls the 11-foot rim "unimaginable."

Plus, there would be much, MUCH fewer dunks. The dunk would probably become almost obsolete. Not good. As the DUNK is one of the most exciting, if not the most exciting, plays in all of sports.
