I don't know about that. For one thing he would be heading to a team on the west that has a good chance of winning the championship (if they don't win it this year). Second, he would be playing on a team w/ another All-Star and last years MVP as well as a possible future All-Star. Third, he would be moving to a team w/ supportive fans and who would actually fill up the arena. It is also a new arena (and the one to be built at Newark is still a maybe). Finally, he would be moving closer to Oakland and be in a region playing at the climate he prefers, warm and sunny.

Simply put, Kidd is a better PG than Parker. Any way you look at it, Kidd is an upgrade over Parker. Kidd is an MVP candidate and anytime a GM can get two MVP caliber guys on one team, its a plus. You can argue that Parker may one day be better than Kidd is, which may very well be true, but by the time that happens, Duncan will probably be past his prime and a ring will be harder to come by. I'm not trying to take anything away from Parker, he's a great player. Both Kidd and Parker are both on my fantasy basketball team, so Ive been following these two very closely.

What I would do if I were Buford:
1) Sign Jason Kidd
2) Trade Parker to the Wizards for Brendan Haywood and 1st rounder.
3) Sign and re-sign any swingmen who can run the floor with Kidd.

I believe this team can become a new dynasty. They would have two MVP-type players with many role players that fit well into the system. They can run the floor with Kidd and a bunch of fast, athletic guard/forwards. If their opponent has good transition defense, they'd kill you on the block with Duncan. They'd have great defense, inside and out, with intense stealers in Kidd and Ginobili on the outside and powerful rebounders/shotblockers as Duncan and Haywood down low. This would be a team to be feared.

Jason Kidd is going nowhere. The Spurs have a very good young point guard in Parker and Kevin Garnett will be a free agent after next year, thus the newest addition to the Spurs. A much more logical fit for a soon to be missing David Robinson.

I agree, Kidd was able to make a below 0.500 team into a playoff contending team. And at the moment I don't see Parker having the capability of doing this for any team.

For the Spurs, David Robinson was the franchise that changed the team from a <0.500 win franchise to a >0.500 (Look at the win stats), and in 96-97 when the Admiral was out injured they didn't make it to the playoffs. Presently, at this time Duncan is this player.

So adding Kidd will definitely make the difference, considering he is a play maker and a franchise player in his prime. I also see Kidd getting better or remain the same quality player he is w/ time (in the same manner that Payton and Stockton are). So saying that they don't want Kidd b/c of age is rubbish.

Kidd didn't put that sub-.500 team over .500 all by himself. He had the help of great improvement from Kenyon Martin, rookie Richard Jefferson, and hot shooting by Van Horn...

and look how he played against Parker on Thursday... miserably...

and Parker for Haywood and a first rounder... would be the most ******** thing Buford could do, and he would be fired in a nano-second!

Also, in context w/ what is being discussed on this forum my point is that Kidd would be a good addition to the Spurs b/c he could make his teammates even better as well as bring their game to the next level.

Also, I don't think you can compare Parker and Kidd from one game. The media is overhyping this game the same way they overhyped Jay Williams when he scored a triple double over the Nets, and look what happened the next game they played.
