I wouldn't say preposterous, but I would agree that it would be unnecessary. Parker is a good PG and will get better when he develops a more reliable jump shot. Also, Parker and Kidd have a similar game despite Parker's being a little bit unpolished due to age, lack of experience, or what not.

Despite the fact that my previous posts seem very pro-Kidd, I honestly think the Spurs should invest in a big man. But I'm saying they can't go wrong w/ Kidd and currently at the present time Kidd is the better PG.

For anybody who disagrees with my Parker trade, I would like for them to give me a reason why. There are some things you guys need to consider.

Here are my reasons:
1) Parker and Kidd would not work well together. They both do similar things and you'd have to take too many minutes away from Ginobili, Jackson, and Claxton in order to make this happen.
2) There are three major defensive components that lead to the kind of fastbreak offense that Kidd provides. Two of them are defensive rebounding and shot blocking. Haywood provides enough of both.
3) Parker is still in the middle of his rookie contract and there aren't a lot of quality big men out there who have a contract that can make a deal for him financially legal. Plus, the Spurs have no other contracts that they can use as throw-ins for a deal.
4) Jordan is retiring which may very well make the 1st round pick they receive back a LOTTERY pick for next season.
5) (very related to 1 and 2) Chemistry wins a lot more championships than talent alone can provide.

Brendan Haywood will never Greatly Improve like Tony Parker is expected to. Parker is only 20 right now too.

It doesn't matter! Kidd &amp; Parker won't fit together. Who will run the team? Kidd will play the 2? But he can't shoot! Parker is going to be an excellent PG in this league but what does that matter when you already have the #1 PG. It is unfair to Parker's development to have to play second fiddle to Kidd. So you must trade. The problem is that Parker only makes $856,200 next year and the Spurs most pressing concern is in the middle. I believe Haywood is the best young center they can get in return who makes a similar salary.

But who are they going to get? They're going to try to get Olowokandi. They'll overpay him. The problem with Kandi, though, is he won't accept his role in San Antonio like Robinson does. Admiral knows his role as a mentor to Duncan and to get those extra rebounds and shot blocks that are necessary. Kandi will come in and try to score. He'll demand to take much needed possessions away from Duncan and mess up the offense. I think bringing in Kidd would be a much better improvement.

They could go after Brad Miller or Jermaine O'Neal, both who I believe are free agents at the end of the season.
