and I'm just saying that it's really hard to call a player that helped his NBA team to three championships overrated. One, maybe... if the Spurs pulled a Heat and dropped to last, I would start to think so as well. Truth is, the Spurs have been the best team in the NBA in the last 10 years, and a lot of that has to do with their 2nd/3rd best player Manu Ginobili. He can't possibly be overrated.

What's ridiculous is how blinding your hatred for Ginobili (and Kobe) is. It actually makes sense for me to say that anyone who doesn't think Ginobili is a great basketball player doesn't know basketball. Ask any of the unbiased PROFESSIONAL NBA analysts and they will all tell you how great Manu is. Just watch a couple of Spurs games and you'll hear guys like Doug Collins and Hubie Brown (ie guys who actually know what they're talking about) consistently praise Ginobili. To say otherwise is ridiculous and ignorant.

Do you not read what other people post? Seriously, first you accuse me of saying that Ginobili is 17th all-time sg (when I clearly pointed out that X*Cell said it and I've been consistently saying only that Ginobili is a great player) and now you make this statement. Why don't you go back to page 7 of this thread and look at the numerous awards and championships that he's won throughout his career. Besides the 3 NBA Championships, the rest of the awards and championships were done WITHOUT Duncan. Yes, I know, "he hasn't done that in the NBA". Why don't you go find me another player who has achieved all of that internationally and also been an INTEGRAL part of 3 NBA Championships.

I'm going to say this again b/c I honestly don't think you even read the other posts: Tim Duncan beat Ginobili by 1 vote for the 2005 Finals MVP. Oh and that "second option, sidekick" is leading the Spurs in scoring...OFF THE BENCH!!! While you search for another player with all of those achievements and awards, why don't you find another "second option, sidekick" who comes off the bench and still leads the team in scoring. To save you some time, you won't find another player who fits all that criteria.
My NBA Teams:

1) Blazers
2) Spurs
3) Hawks

surely not,.all credibility gets thrown out the window if he means that.... maybe he means top 20 SG's all time? hey even top 20 all time isnt a stretch for manu, considering his acheivments and considering his per48min production.
as i said before...this shouldnt even be up for debate.
manu is a great player, period.
his stats and accolades and rings back that up 100%.

this is from 82games.com, this should shut all arguments against ginobli down..seriously, there is no defending against these numbers.

"Roland Ratings"

While we never advocate reliance on 'overall rating' type metrics for players since we believe that "fit" within a team's roster and coaching schemes, financial considerations and other factors play a considerable part in player evaluation, it can be useful to gauge quickly how a player stacks up in certain statistical categories.

The main components of the 'Roland Ratings' are a production measure (a variant of John Hollinger's PER rating) for a player's own stats versus the counterpart player on the other team while he is on the court, as well as a simple on court/off court plus minus. This rating is actually more of a placeholder until the more sophisticated analysis we produce is made public, but still offers a good fast read on player performance.

Wow, you REALLY don't read what other people post. I've clearly said Ginobili flops (which is a bad thing, remember). But yeah, everything I post is pro-Ginobili. BTW, I'm a basketball lover. If someone is a great player I acknowledge it. It doesn't matter if I can't stand the guy. A great player is a great player. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of you.

First you say he hasn't done anything and then we point out all of the individual awards and championships he's won throughout his career and then you respond with "he did all of that in the Euroleague". You say the only smart thing about him is that he picked the right team. Again, look at how many championships he's won. He must be the BEST at picking which team he plays for b/c everywhere he plays he wins.

BTW, I guess every NBA head coach, analyst, and every NBA player I've heard is just a Ginobili lover. Because, I've never heard any of them refer to Ginobili as anything but a great player. But yeah, the guy who can't even spell Ginobili (or ridiculous) is probably right.

Again, READ my ENTIRE post. I said find me another second option, "sidekick" who comes off the bench and leads his team in scoring. You're right Gordon does come off the bench and lead the Bulls in scoring but he is hardly their second option. Last year, Gordon took more shots than both Deng and Hinrich. This year is no different, he's taken more shots than both of them. In contrast, Ginobili has taken less shots than Duncan and still leads them in scoring. But good try though.

Once again, if Ginobili has just been part of the "Tim Duncan ride" how did Ginobili end up 1 vote shy of the 2005 Finals MVP. So without Ginobili, Duncan doesn't win the 2005 Championship and most likely doesn't make it to last years championship. Again, Ginobili has won 5 titles and a gold medal without Tim Duncan.

The fact that you refer to Ginobili as "Flopoli" just shows the amount of blinding hate you have for him. Meanwhile all I've done is point out the obvious to you: Ginobili is a great player. While I and others have shown you fact after fact of how he is a great player, your only response is that he's not great, he doesn't have individual accolades in the NBA, and he's nothing without Tim Duncan. If you were to come out and say that Nash isn't a great player or Chris Paul, or anyone else who is also a great player I would've defended them just as hard. I can appreciate great players whether I like them or not. It is clear that you can't.

Now, I'm done with you.
