None of those guys are good shooters, and there's a reason they've all bounced around the league. They're all average players, and the fact that their defense and driving ability is keeping Redick on the bench pretty much sums up what everyone is saying about Redick. He may be a good shooter, but he can't do anything else, and that's the reason he's not getting any playing time. As far as Orlando just not being the right place for him, there aren't going to be many teams around the league that don't have guards that can offer more than Redick does. He's going to need to find the perfect situation.

My fault. I guess I should have cleared it up. I was referring to the other players on the team like Pimping mentioned. Lewis, Turkoglu, Nelson, Bogans, Cook, Evans, Arroyo and even Dooling when given a good look. Not neccessarily those few players you mentioned. All of those guys shoot higher than 33% from the three point line.

And it figures that a Duke fan would bring up the "everyone just hates Duke" excuse. If there were delusional Gonzaga fans claiming Morrison was the victim of a conspiracy to keep him down, and that he was the greatest shooter alive, the responses would be pretty similar. You can thank JJLinn for throwing gasoline on this thread and lighting the match.

Redick isnt known for his defense, I dont think anyone here has said he is though. Its not that Arroyo, Dooling etc. are getting playing time because they are overall better players then Redick, its because of how the ENTIRE team is put together, they have too many shooters on that team already. There are plenty of guys around the league that are completely one dimensional, plenty of guys that either provide solid defense and not much on the offensive end or the other way around but they get on the court because they fit a need that their club has, Redick is an offensive spark plug, Orlando already has enough offense, he wont get in the game because of that. Now, personally, I would love to see him go to Detroit, we have enough defensive minded players to make up for any defensive letdowns from Redick but he could provide a spark out there when our offense is really struggling and our jumpers arent falling. Furthermore, look at Bruce Bowen, that guy doesnt create his own shot, relies completely on getting passes out of the double team on Duncan, but he gets constant playing time because he can play defense, its all about fitting a teams need, Redick doesnt do that in Orlando and needs to go elsewhere, somewhere that has a solid defensive interior and lacks a constant outside shooting game, and Im sure there will be a home for the guy if Orlando does indeed attempt to trade him.

First off, Duke is hated by many, thats not a ridiculous assumption, its the truth. Secondly, Im not aware of what JJLinn said previously and thats his own opinion, but dont lump all Duke fans into one catagory, I can admit when a Duke player sucks based on his performance, but people seem to want to base it on everything but that, the guy doesnt even play consistently, if ever, and yet he is already a flop. You mention Gonzaga fans in the plural sense, so far you have only stated JJLinn and what he said, thats one person, so like I said, dont think all Duke fans think the same thing he does. Orlando certainly wouldnt be paying him as much as they are just to attempt to ruin his career, Orlando just isnt a good fit for Redick, he has similar skills as half the team, they dont need to play him when guys like Dooling and Arroyo have a proven track record and you are pushing for a playoff spot. Eventually Redick will get a shot, it might not be with Orlando, but once he gets a shot he will either take advantage of that or he wont and if he doesnt then I will be the first to say he was and is a bust and move on but I want to see him get the chance first before I will say he is garbage.

I dont know what to say, you make these ridiculous comments only to attempt to stir it up and I guess your successful since Im replying to it. Im done in this thread, all of the facts in the world wont change anyones opinion, you cant stop yourself from making comments just to elicit a reply, others are far too into hating anything Duke related to give credit even in situations where its due, this whole argument is pointless at this point. Take care, hopefully Redick gets a shot and shows that he isnt complete garbage like everyone here seems to think he is and maybe we can finally get away from this topic, although I doubt that would change anything or anyones opinion anyways.

Bowen is arguably the best man on man perimeter defender in the NBA over the past several years. He's a terrible comparison. Redick's offense is nowhere near as good as Bowen's defense.

He wishes he was Rex Chapman. Rex could flat out score and was a much better athlete. I saw him drop 50 one night at the old Capital Center.

People can say what they want to defend Reddick but it's all based on assumptions. Until he actually proves something, all the Reddick defending means nothing. The minute you sign a pro contract all your college accomplisments mean nothing, if anything it puts a target on your back.

Morrison doesnt get the hate because he didnt go to Duke, end of story. If Morrison went to Duke he would get the same hate.

That's a double-edged sword. There wouldn't be the unbridled love and conspiracy theories if Reddick didn't go to Duke.

Man, if Ray can't knock down a shot or get open what makes you think JJ can. Ray's bad defense is better than JJ's best defense.

His shot will start falling eventually, i hope.
