I know. I'm just saying that they were poor defenders when they came into the league and with time have improved.
Melo doesn't even put forth an effort and Ben Gordon is always going to be a liability defensively. All I'm saying is that his offensive game will only get better as he gains experience. The same applies to Redick.
But what I was also saying is that Redick will not being getting murked night in and night out. On nights when he has to guard a better offensive talent, he shouldn't get as many minutes. Either that, or have him switch up and guard another player on D. Leave him out there, if he gets worked on a few possessions, pull him out, or make a defensive adjustment like switching or bringing an extra defender to help.
I just think that Redick could be highly effective on offense. Not saying he can be top scorer. Just that his minutes will have a good effect on the team as a whole. He moves well without the ball and he possesses a great jumper with great range. I think that if used correctly, a team can greatly benefit with him on the floor.
