Out of bounds: Should Jordan be blame for the recent Wizards slide?
In the past couple of weeks, Jordan has blasted his Wizard teammates for the recent poor play. Since Jordan was responsible for a number of the current players on the Wizards roster, should he also be blame for the Wizards slide?

Yes he has stop the growth of this team... The young guys like Kwame should be play more then he does. Tyson Chandler and Eddie Curry have surpass Kwame because the Bulls let them play!! -

Re: Out of bounds: Should Jordan be blame for the recent Wizards slide?
MJ needs to be telling his players through actions...not the media...if that doesn't work which it doesn't seem to be doing...he should sit down with each player and explain just how important this situation is and what they can do to improve...but i hope he doesn't...i want my bucks in the playoffs

Well Jordan is right at times
but then again who's on the court during the stretch runs of the ball game?
JORDAN.
Who's usually getting touches late in the games?
JORDAN.
So in reality Jordan has to step back and let the younger guys play in the pressure situations. I know it will hurt if they lose games and such but that's a part of growing and becoming a better player. It doesn't happen just overnight ya know.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Out of bounds: Should Jordan be blame for the recent Wizards slide?
What are you guys reading. MJ not letting them take shots, and not play?
</font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />
``Hopefully with my comments and with the way the game was played last game, we all will look in the mirror and say, 'What can we be doing differently to try to make the outcome a little bit better? I would hope that's what they'd learn,'' Jordan said Sunday.
The Wizards had lost 11 of 13 road games heading into the meeting with the Warriors.
After that loss, he said: ``I'm not going to try to save this team. It's not my job. My job is not to try to carry this team like I did in '84 for the Bulls. We've got young, talented players on this team. If they're going to sit back and expect that I'm going to score 50 points they got a nice little awakening coming up. I told them at halftime: 'I'm not going to try to carry the team.'''
Earlier this month, Jordan knocked his younger teammates for not matching his effort, saying, ``We have too many players making the same mistakes in March as they made in October.''
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
I think he's done both, and usually publicly, the team has positively responded at times. Remember last years "We Stink" comment. The Wiz would have been in the playoffs if MJ didn't suffer his injury, and would have clearly snatched the MVP trophy.
Now he is still the GM and he's assesing his team to see if the players he has is worth keeping or not.Comment

Re: Out of bounds: Should Jordan be blame for the recent Wizards slide?
How was Jordan to know how the rest of the Wizards would perform? I bet most of the players he acquired looked good at the time. I think the Rip Hamilton for Jerry Stackhouse trade was a bad move though...... but, again looked good at the time didn't it??? I think the Wizards would be in the playoffs if they still had Rip. Oh well......Comment

It's hard for us to criticise MJ as he's probably the best player ever...
However, as a GM he is seriously hopeless IMO.
I mean, really bad.
Think about that Washington team he put together. It NEVER looked good on paper.
NO three points shooters.
THREE ball hog guys who need a lot of shots and need to penetrate + can't consistently hit the outside shot (Stack, Larry and MJ)
NO inside game at all. He has several guys with no offensive skills. Brown, Oak, Haywood etc.
A horrible combo of guys at the end of their career, MJ and Oak mixed with guys at the beginning, Brown etc.
So, you have a host of guys who need to penetrate to score...with no outise shooters...and no one inside to draw the defense away.
Stack thrived in Detroit last year as he penetrated and Barry etc were waiting on the three line if the double team came. Result = Stack had a career year + his best ever assists total + the Detroit shooters had great years.
If he penetrates this year...the lane is closed. WTF is he going to throw the ball to for a three? Larry Hughes? MJ? Defenses will give them that shot all day.
It's a terrible combination.
He screwed up badly when he didn't get Elton Brand for the number one pick and it's been down hill ever since.
Again...great player.

Re: Out of bounds: Should Jordan be blame for the recent Wizards slide?
why blame jordan? at age 40 he has been been so hardworking, at times i see that he plays more heart than any other player on the team. they lack many positions on their team which is mainly the reason of their downfall this season. they don't have outside shooting and no low post scoring or inside. i am also not impressed on kwame brown. he has been taking a lot bad decisions. i think that's the reason why they blame brown also.Comment
