Re: D Rose putting in that work last night

D rose is a "pure" point guard! Not a shooting guard playin point guard and not a combo guard. The man is a pure point guard. He only tries to score when his team needs him. It is not his fault that he was blessed with superior athletic ability and strength. He would rather pass anyday than score. Jus because he has the ability to score if he wants to does not make him jus a guard or a combo guard. The man is a "point" period. Jerryd bayless is what you would call a combo guard or a shooting guard playing the point guard. D rose has always been a "pure" point guard. The man is jus unselfish period and i know because i played against him a couple times. He can take over a game wenever he wants to. He average 15 points a game at memphis without even trying. Half of the time he didnt even want to shoot the ball. he jus wanted to get his teamates open shoots. He knows he can get his shot wenever he wants to. He is being more aggressive at the nba level only because everyone wants him to, which would make him even harder to stop because its hard to tell if he is trying to setup ppl or set up his own shot. Magic johnson was also a "pure" point guard. He and d rose would rather get a nice pass than a bucket any day. Like i said jus because they have the ability to score does not make them jus guards. It makes them "pure" point guards that can score.

Correct. The same way a fool that can't score is a "role player" or "plays hard" Works the same way. I don't view him as a distributor first by any means but I guess others see it differently.
      Concrete evidence/videos please

Rose is a well balanced point guard, he takes what the D gives him for the most part. Don't know what label you want to put on it but that's the best way I can describe him.

          You aren't kidding man.

Watching his progression last year was a thing of beauty. Early in the season, he tended to just come up court, maybe pass but likely shoot a three.

As it got closer to March, he was passing more, shooting less threes and simply doing what he did in the video was take it straight to the hole.

I wish I was able to see him one more year. The 2007/2008 Memphis Tigers is a special team that I'll miss dearly.

I guess Rose banged up his hip last night but it's not too serious.
