Should have never parted with Andre Miller in the first place. But that doesn't matter now
    Concrete evidence/videos please

What? I dont think he is that short. He is listed as 6 ft even on Wiki. I always though he was 6ft 1 beacuse he was listed that way on the Philly web site.

Again, I just have to chuckle at how hard it is to find out how tall a player is. By next year he will be listed as 6 ft 3 and be featured in a Milk tv ad.

I can confirm that Iverson is no taller than 5'11.

Rip and Sheed are next, I hate to say. We will probably resign McDyess. If Sheed comes to play we are unstoppable, but when he is out there BSing, and "buddy balling" we can't win. I want them to keep Rip. They can get rid of Sheed. Joe D has to do these moves cause he put the whole team on blast, except Stuckey. Also, what number is Iverson gonna wear?

              Iverson is about 5'10.75

Allen Iverson height is 5ft 11 or 180.3 cm tall. Discover more Celebrity Heights and Vote on how tall you think any Celebrity is!

He said he was 5'10 in Sports Illustrated for kids. I don't have a link for that, but I remember reading it.

Ha, yeah... that's basically what this comes down to. They wasted 1 1/2 prime years of AI's career on an experiment that regrettably didn't work... I just hope dude gets his ring in DET, because it wasn't happening this year in Denver anyway. He deserves it more than anyone in the league and I really hope he gets it with DET or another team.

My dude JR has to come in and make this trade hurt less, because I'll miss Iverson. If Cheikh Samb's crazy 7'1" 195 lbs. lizardman *** gets some burn, that will make it even better, because I like that guy's potential. Not many guys can pull off a triple-double with blocks, even in the d-league.

I guess Denver was aiming to please the 25 and younger female population when they brought Iverson in. I can only imagine how groupie-filled those hotels were after the games when AI was in Denver. My goodness. You know how the groupies love AI and Melo...

Uhh, its not hard to believe no one said it was. But its just kinda strange that there is a lot of fog around a person height in a sport in which height is very imporant.

Tape measures are plentiful in the world so it shouldnt be that hard to find a person height.

But it doesnt really matter at all.

AI shows great respect for Billups, Pistons
                          by Dave Wieme

It’s 11:15 p.m. and the Pistons just wrapped up their series against the 76ers. Another close one in Game Five, until the end when the Pistons just seemed to turn the screw….inch by inch, point by point…..up three, then up five…..get a defensive stop and then a quick jumper and they are up seven, up nine. Game over. We win….you lose.
Allen Iverson said it……the Pistons just have too many weapons. They are a team that can throw five guys at you and will play you tough at both ends of the floor. You can never double team and they won’t double team on the defensive end. The Pistons are the best team in basketball.
But it was something else that A.I. said that made me stop and take a moment. A reporter asked him at his post-game press conference about an embrace between he and Chauncey at mid-court when the final buzzer sounded. The reporter asked him what he said to Chauncey.
“I told him I loved him,” Iverson said.
A.I. is by no means a big man. And this is only magnified when he gets on the court with guys who are six, seven, ten inches taller than him. Sitting up at the podium, behind three oversized microphones, shoulders slumped and head a bit down, he looked even smaller. But when he answered the question, he grew about ten times in my eyes. And I think everyone around me felt the same way.
Here he was, total street: tattoos, braids in his hair, wrist band pulled up on his forearm, the small hint of a mustache on his upper lip, the baggy shorts, the black shoes, the headband pulled down almost to his eyes. And yet, he says that he told a rival that he loved them. He explained how much respect he has for Chauncey and the entire Pistons team. He said how unusual it is to be in a battle, a war, with someone who you respect so much. He said he had wished Chauncey luck and that the Pistons were the team he would be rooting for to win the NBA Championship.
Class. That was the only word I could come up with. Gracious in defeat, Allen Iverson showed me a side that I never thought I’d see…..I don’t know why I never thought I’d see it…..maybe it is the reputation, the “thug” persona that is associated with him, the way he looks out on the court, the shorts, the braids, the tatts. Maybe it’s the implications of being selfish and scoring 35 points a game, but also taking 50 shots. I don’t know, but it just kind of caught me by surprise.
And then I had a flashback to the first game of this series. The Pistons had won, handily, and I was in the back loading dock area walking toward the Sixers team bus. I saw a group of people, a family, moving toward the bus. A father had his daughter in his arms and there was a young child walking next to him. What appeared to be the wife/mother and the grandparents were all walking along as well. The man was well-dressed in a very sharp navy suit and shiny, shiny black shoes (weird, but I notice shoes). And I thought how nice, a whole family here enjoying the game and the atmosphere….it’s kind of like real life.
The man in the blue suit was A.I. and he was doting over one of his children as he walked. And then he bent down to kiss the other child on the cheek. The child laughed and ran away. He smiled and laughed and the whole group kept walking. Very quiet, very hushed, but I recognized the overwhelming sense of family.
                          Allen Iverson --- family man.
I shook myself out of the memory and immediately felt stupid. Judgmental. Prejudicial. In a word, I felt ignorant. There was the book and all I was looking at was the cover.
Nine times out of ten, and I should know this having been around the game for so long, the guy we see on the court is not who that guy is in real life. The persona is not necessarily the man. I’ve played ball with guys who are about the biggest SOBs you could ever meet when they are on the field…..and then, you are sitting around having a beer with them and you find they are okay. They have families, and pay bills, and have worries just like you. The image you see on the court or the field is just that…an image.
I have no idea where I am going with this, other than to make the point that Allen Iverson showed me, and a lot of other people in this organization and in basketball, a lot of class tonight. He didn’t whine or complain. He didn’t go into a “toughs” shell and lash out. He praised the Pistons. He praised Coach Brown. He praised his teammates. He praised his organization for putting together a team that has a bright future. He was genuine. He was gracious. He was humble. You could tell from his words and his body language that he was real. And he expressed his respect for another man in a very heartfelt way. You can’t get much more dignified or classy than that. Very cool.

Because he's the best and most consistent scorer in league history not named Wilt or Michael Jordan, is a 1st ballot HOF player, is the only guy in the last 5 years to be in the Top 5 in scoring and assists, gives 100% of his effort every night, has little injury history, he represents not only a player, but a brand that sells huge amounts and will cause a major spike in revenue in jersey sales, etc., his name-recognition alone will sell seats, and his giant $21-mil salary comes off the books at the end of the season.

Is that enough? Should I keep going? You dudes questioning AI are starting to get to me haha...

Heh, I'm not worried at all. Those who question the Pistons on trading for AI had said the very same things about a guy named Sheed 4 years ago. And I think the early results of that move turned out rather well.
