I loved that signing. I was happy about it from day 1. Sure we couldn't land the bigger names, but this guy has proven to be one of the biggest bargain signings of the year.

I agree, I was talking about this as an under the radar signing before the season started. If they had Barry instead of Mason, you guys would be in a world of hurt.

Doesn't gotta mean anything to you but at the sametime, nobody on here thought they would even be at .500 with two KEY players out.

5-5 for a team that has no outside threat whatsoever, that just tells me that Pop has done a darn good job of holding the ship afloat without Parker and Ginobili.

Hell, I'm pretty sure Eddie Jordan wouldn't mind being 5-5, much less 4-5 without his starting C.

Or if you look at who they've played since TP went out it's not really that surprising.

10 games in is nothing, I don't see how people are drawing any sort of conclusions from 10 games.

It goes both ways. Just like how people were ready to put them on their death bed not even 7 games in lol.

Putting them in their death bed is foolish. All I'm saying is it's not as simple as most here were making it out to be as far as making the playoffs.

If they play this type of ball(.500)when TP, and 20 come back, then I see no reason why they SHOULDN'T get an 8 seed at least.

Now winning the title...that's a different story.

I think these first 10 games assure us that the Spurs will be back in the playoffs since we know our guards will make it back healthy soon. Ya'll can quote me on this and laugh at me later if need be... but my confidence has resurged.

But like Professa says... the championship is totally different. I always believed and still believe that the Lakers are the team to beat, and only the Celtics have the power to do so.

Good signing indeed. First few years in the league for Chicago and Toronto he was invisible but last year for Washington he really shined.

This 5-5 start means nothing. And call me crazy but I still think they can compete for the championship. Once they get all their players back in the mix, they'll be fine.

I know everyone is drinking the Laker kool-aid and on the Hornets and Rockets banwagon. But when it's all said and done I feel the Spurs are going to be in the mix and one of the teams I just previously mentioned will bow out early in the playoffs.

5-5 is a huge deal, though. The team has stayed afloat and I think the Spurs are 4-1 without Tony or Manu. Tony was in for the 1-4 start, but the Spurs have strangely played better since he got injured. Anyways, this should help the Spurs out in the end when they get Manu and Tony back since the role players will have more experience and the team should gel better. The bench shouldn't be the horrible atrocity it has been in recent years. A good bench would do wonders.
