U sure? If your right, I appoligize, but i coulda swore Toronto was in the bottom 3rd of the league for attendance. Seriously, if someone finds the real #'s it would clear it up...

my memory is hazy. yur probably right tho. I thought they had low attendance. My bad.

James is a talent, we'll see how much, I'm still not drooling over him, but I think a big man of Darko's talent who has PROVEN it playing in the European pro leagues, I just think he's more NBA game ready than Lebron.

      Arena's

      Darko is a huge talent.

      However, he has risks also.

He has not exactly proven himself yet, as you claim.

      He averaged in 2002 :: YUBA League: 26games: 5.7ppg, 3.1rpg, 1.1bpg

      That's anything but proven.

I think they'll both be stars, but Darko is a risk also.

You have to remember Mirsad Turkan has won the EURO player of the year award a few times.

The same Mirsad Turkan drafted by the Rockets a few years back (ahead of Rashard Lewis!) who failed to make it at the Rocks, Knicks or Philly.

Darko is a massive talent, like LeBron....but he is no 'proven' player like you suggest.

                  I HAVE SEEN Darko PLAY

Last year, he played in the global games in Dallas against some of the local High school talent. His team was loaded with guys who obviously were older. HE WAS NOT IMPRESSIVE. I sat two seats down from Rod Thorn, I even got a chance to heckle Jerry Krause about MJ ( that in its self was worth the price of admission. EVERY TEAM WAS THERE. Not only checking out Darko, but Bracey Wright (Indiana), Daniel Horton (Michigan, didn't play in al of the games, had to leave town), Chris Bosh (Georgia Tech), Brian Hopkins (SMU) and Antoine Wright (Texas A&M). Darko is not ready for the pro game. He had no impact on the game. They did have a center who was holding his own, he was already a draft pick of the Nets I think from a couple of years ago. Darko, against American kids HIS OWN AGE, had to be put on the bench.
Now all of this priceless info should be worth a star or two , you think

Re: I HAVE SEEN Darko PLAY

I have heard Darko is very skilled for a big man. I have also heard that he may not be physically ready for the pro game yet. From what i've seen out of LeBron he is physically ready as was Amare Stoudemire. Playing pro ball in Europe does give him great experience but the game in the nba is played at a much higher level, much faster, and with many many more athletes. Someone made a good point earlier about how these Euro players are getting alot of respect but really the only great one now is Dirk. That was an excellent point. Peja is damn good also but I wouldnt consider him a superstar. With the #1 overall pick you want a future superstar. I've seen some footage on this Darko and saw a couple of specials about him and I dont know if he will be a superstar in the nba. He will probally be very good but no superstar. It might very well take him about 2-3 years to get completely accumsted to the nba game. Lebron on the other hand is a superstar in the making. His athletiscism, unselfishness, and passing skills make him a nightmare matchup for opposing defenses. I know he hasnt seen much great competition but everyone is not drooling over him for nothing. He really has the goods. He could seriously become one of the nba "greats" and I dont think Darko has that in him. The only thing about LeBron is his work ethic. I heard that he works pretty hard, but will he make the dedication and put in the work to become one of the best like Kobe or MJ did, but hands down I'd take LeBron anyday over Darko with the first pick.

but can you honestly say that Lebron is 100% ready to carry a franchise kobe isn't even ready for that. Ask Tmac how hard it is to be carrier of a fracbhise by yourself or K.G. These been in the L for a minute and they are just learning how to take your team not just yourslf to the next level. Big men have the obstacle of size to worry about but gaurds have it tougher.

I think you must ask yourself:

"Would I rather have Dirk Nowitski or Tracey Mcgrady?"

Lebron and Darco compare to these two.
