If I had the #1 pick I would either draft Melo or hold the NBA hostage and rip someone off in a trade. Seriously James will be good but he aint gonna be the 2nd coming of something. And u know whos to blame people who think he is a god. He is never going to live up to the hype. Sorry but no matter what he does people are not going to be satisified.

Lebron isn't the second coming of anyone ur rite

And since when is Miami, Toronto and Denver the right environments for anyone???

Re: Who would you draft number 1 and why?

No one should ever call a rookie a bust their first year.

            Rookie Year Stats:
            Tracy McGrady 7ppg 4 Reb 1.5 Asst
            Kobe Bryant 7.6ppg 1.9 Red 1.4 Ast
Kevin Garnett 10.4 ppg 6.3 Reb 1.8 Ast
            Jermaine O'Neil 4.1ppq 2.8 Reb 0.2 Ast

Dirk Nowitzki 8.2 ppg 3.5 Reb 1.0 ast
Gary Payton 7.2 ppg 3 Reb 6.4 ast
Ben Wallace 1.1 ppg 1.7 Reb 0.1 Asst 0.3 Blk
Allan Houston 8.5 ppg 1.5. Reb 1.3 ast
Jalen Rose 8.2 ppg 2.7 Reb 4.8 ast

            Where are they now???

            High School Senior year Stats
            Kobe Bryant- 30.8 ppg 12 reb, 6.5 ast, 4.0 steals, 3.8 blks
Tracy McGrady- 27.5 ppg 8.7 reb 7.7 ast and 2.8 steals
Kevin Garnett- 25.2 ppg 17.9 reb, 6.7 ast and 6.5 blks
            Jermaine O'Neil 22.4 pg and 12.6 reb 5.2 Blks

Lebron James Junior Year - 28.8 ppr 5.9 Apg 8.3 reb 1.7 blk 3.3 steals (if someone knows his senior year stats please post)

I hate how people keep saying James jus goes against high school players, and is playing with boys. But so did Kobe, T Mac and Garnett, and those 3 are top contenders for the MVP this year. They alll dominated high school.

I would pick lebron first, but the top 3 (james, anthony, darko) have potential to be the leaders of the league so it doesn't matter who's first, i would be happy to have one of the top 3 picks. Lebron has vision, athelitism and knowlede, Darko is a athletic big man, Carmelo has the complete game. I mean you win no matter what with one of those picks. And still each one of them has something to work on. Carmelo needs to get stronger, and so does Darko. And at the sametime Lebron is going to be working on his shot. 3 top players this year coming from different places. High School, College and Overseas. Its going to be interesting who will adapt faster.

I don't understand why people think he can't live up to the hype. What has he shown in his ability that he can't be work on?

Come on, he can touch the rim with the top his head. He doesn't have to put on any weight or get bigger like most High School NBA players. You notice how much better Kobe, TMac, and Garnett got after they put on weight? Work on his speed maybe but i'm sure by the begining of next year he's going to look way faster and have a better jump shot. He's already a step ahead with his physic.

T-Mac, Kobe those guys didn't have a shot at first. They were slashers. Worked on there game and now they are unstoppable anywhere on the court.
You can teach a athletic player to shoot, but can you teach a shooter to be athletic? I don't think so.

Its cool, every good player has their haters.

LeBron means instant millions, ticket and merchandise sales to whatever team he goes to. He will be the number 1 pick, there's nothing else to it. A GM would have to be insane to sacrifice that kind of instant money and talent to draft someone else.

Why can't Lebron average a triple double. He is 6'8(at least) and 240, so 10+ rebounds is definately reachable and he is a tremendous passer and if he gets with Carter, Butler, or some other star player, 10+ assist is reachable. I think Carmelo will be a pretty good player, but I don't think he will be too special(he has shown nothing to seperate himself from Glenn Robinson comparisons). I think Lebron will do things we've never seen.

Miami has the one of the greatest NBA coaches of all-time. Toronto has the all-time winningest coach and one of the most spectacular players in the NBA when healthy and motivated. Denver is starting to have a good front office and two future stars in Hilario and Tskitiliviki. Those aren't what I would call bad enviroments.

To average 10 assists a night daily would be tough. I'm sure he is capable of getting close to 10 but I don't think he can average a triple double in the NBA. Hell, how many point guards average 10 assists and up? Not many.

To average 10 assists a night daily would be tough. I'm sure he is capable of getting close to 10 but I don't think he can average a triple double in the NBA. Hell, how many point guards average 10 assists and up? Not many.
