So basically, you gonna play pickup basketball with 4-10 players but pickup football, you need the helmets and pads? I would think all you needed was the football.

How fun is football w/ 4 players? Sure if you've got 5-5 or something its cool or at least a decent game, and if some of the whimps don't want to play tackle there's always flag football.

BUT are you really trying to make the case for football being a better pick up and play sport than basketball?

Plus one on one basketball can still be a lot of fun and that's simply not possible in football, baseball etc unless you wanna play catch.

TECHNALLY i think that basketball is the perfect showcase of all human attributes... & i love the NBA because of pace & the amount of intensity that is plain to see... non-stop action and their mental toughness/intelligence gets them just as far as their talent

I love it because nightly someone goes off. You have to truly bring your "A" game every night or you will get emberassed.

Re: Why Are You Thankful for the NBA?

Thread is almost a complete failure but good try DC.

The game is beautiful. A great dance. Improvisation on the court and in the air.

Like great musicians they keep pushing each other.

Kept to a mathematical clock but a distinct rhythm when the game is played right.

              Its awe inspiring.

It is culture, the moves, the walk, the talk, the individualism shining within and around team.

It is humanity, teamwork. Competition. The essence of life.

The NBA brings all this at its best.

Gambling, I gamble/bet on alot of games. And of course, the excitement it brings, it's just the game that has stuck to my interest ever since I started playing as a young child and watching it on television. I don't know how to explain the love that I have for this amazing game. It's just too bad Stern is in charge.

I hate it, whenever I watch it I feel like I need to go out and buy a new NBA game(which I've put off for a long time, but may break down this time). I don't watch it too much, but when I do I really enjoy it. So, no I don't hate it, but I hate that it puts a dent in my wallet.

It brings out fans' basic thought processes and logical fallacies that can be quite entertaining to read.
