I remember when TNT and TBS network showed exclusively Atlanta Hawks games.

I remember Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf back when he was known as Chris Jackson, Shaq's college teammate at LSU.

I remember when the Nike Fun Police commercials were being shown.

I remember when the Pistons acquired Sean Elliott (*blech*) from the Spurs and wanted him to be the star player of the team. Once that plan fizzled rather quickly, the team shipped Elliott's scrubby a-- off and drafted Grant Hill the next year.

I remember when the SuperSonics chose to re-sign John McIlvane to a big multiyear contract over Shawn Kemp.

I remember when Michael Cage sported the greasiest jheri curls in the league after A.C. Green retired.

I remember when Acie Earl was being hyped as the next Patrick Ewing when he came out of Iowa.

I remember when Antoine Carr used to be furious at Glenn Robinson because he accused Robinson of stealing his "Big Dog" nickname.

I remember when Juwan Howard of all people was offered the first multiyear $100M contract.

And I used to watch WCW Saturday Night and order a Pizza from Dominos and then watch the HAwks LIVE from the Omni in Atlanta

I remember NBA Draft 1993 when 76ers owner Harold Katz said "Shawn Bradley will revolutionize the game of basketball."

And of course he did.

He gave every NBA player a chance to try dunking in-game on a 7'6" skinny center with no resistance.

I remember when the Palace was one of the most feared venues in the league because of a combination of the atmosphere, the pregame intros with Mason, the bells tolling for Big Ben, and because the other team knew they were going to get their asses kicked by defense.

...Okay it was only a few years ago. Feels like over a decade. Can't even recognize the Pistons anymore nowadays.

I remember a time when the game\ players\situations werent over analyzed, people just enjoyed basketball.

I remember a time were people didnt have some false sense that the game was perfect in a prior time period.

Game was never perfect but it sure was a whole lot better than what it is now.That is my opinion and respect whoever does not share the same thoughts

I remember the houston Rockets court with the rocket taking off paint scheme and the blue three point area.

I remember a lot of people could only name the Bulls, Knicks and Lakers as NBA teams, outside of those they could not name one even if their life depended on it.

I remember seeing Trevor Ruffin a 6.0 guard dunking on 7.6 Shawn Bradley,jump out of my seat spilling my drink on the brand new carpet and the whooping i got afterwards from my mom

I was in the military on barracks duty, in the duty office with my feet up on the desk, piping hot Pizza across my lap. That layup was so mean, I jumped up, pizza went flying. Damn MJ.

I remember watching some kind of NBA Show on CNN and they showed the slam dunk contest featuring Vince Carter... I swear my whole family (who aren't basketballminded- was quiet and sat there in disbelief

I remember when Nike first came out with black athletic socks and I wore them every where (school, the court, church, lol).

Hell yeah. The Fab 5 had everyone in MS/HS rocking black Nike socks.

I remember in college staying up late every night watching Sportscenter just to see Vince Carter highlights his rookie year.

That and watching Mad Dog Carter point at the screen on NBA2Night

I remember when MJ retired for the first time. It was on my birthday and I got up to see that MJ had retired. It weas a headline story on the NEWS not just Sportscenter. Shows just how big MJ was. I was sad and pissed off all day. That is still to this day the worst birthday I have ever had lol.
