    who REALLY wants a ring?

so me & my pawtna were talking about players that the Rockets could pick up next season & the conversation side-tracked to players that are TRULY have a BURNING DESIRE to win championships & that is there sole reason for playing the game.

we were only able to come to a list of 11 & here it is in no paricular order:

    LeBron James
    Kobe Bryant
    Tim Duncan
    Kevin Garnett
    Paul Pierce
    Ray Allen
    Dwayne Wade
    Chauncy Billups
    Yao Ming
    Chris Paul
Brandon Roy (his playoff performance, demeanor & interviews extended the list to 11)

we honestly couldn't think of anyone else that we would add to this list with confidence.

    your thoughts?

I'd say LeBron only wants championships to build his name.

I'd put Grant Hill on here before I'd put Nash.

I don't think he would be as great as he is if that's all he played for.

Grant Hill doesn't strike me as a guy who is going to lose sleep over not winning the title. All the guys that I listed strike me as so.

TMac pretty much got choked up after losing against Utah.. I mean that says a lot to me.

there's a lot i could say about T-Mac wanting a ring but i dont want this thread to get locked up... he got chocked up because he knew what the media would say about his "legacy"

just wondering was ur list an extension of the original list?

                  what legacy?

Dude nobody plays in the playoffs with the way he turns it up and doesnt want to win.

He's no different than KG when he didnt have enough help, except he says stupid things outwardly.

Yeah I hear your point of view but even if that IS true [which it might not be], that plays into the topic. For good or bad reasons the guys I listed are people who want to win!

Do you think Kobe is selfless?? LOL! Of course these guys care about their legacies.

Also your list was spot on, my list was an extension.

                      LOL T-Mac...

Players who leave because they want to be "The Man" instead of staying with a team that has another star, don't strike me as anything more than players who care solely about the limelight and just do things for the fame...

Yes, i'm talking about T-Mac leaving the Raps...and no im not bitter.

Don't get me wrong. Nash is a warrior and will do whatever it takes to win a championship while playing, but he's been asked before about NEEDING a ring, and he basically said he could live with it if he ends up not getting a ring by the time his career is done.

Dude, I really hate to act like I like this guy this much but come on now.

Tmac went to ORL to play with Grant freaking Hill who was like "the guy", and some scattered talk about them trying to get Duncan which they failed to do.

Tmac wasn't a scorer in TOR so no way anyone gives a dude who only got in the game by playing lockdown D a max contract for nothing.

                              I see.

I dunno guys are all different in how they react to not winning, but I won't hold him being sane against him

                              Good point above me
