Gortat never complained about his or anybody's touches. He basically said the EXACT same thing Shaq said in a newspaper interview around a month ago.

This is all Stan Van Gundy needs right now.

An international controversy involving a backup center from Poland.

"The nature of our coach, he panics very often during games," the Magic's Marcin Gortat told a Polish newspaper recently. "He's got some behavior which is not good for us. With his gestures he makes us nervous on the floor."

Gortat obviously has a lot to learn about American basketball and worldwide media. As Sentinel colleague David Whitley stated in his column about Van Gundy that appeared in today's Sentinel: Gortat is "apparently unaware Polish can be translated and put on the Internet. ... Geez, the guy has a couple of double-figure games and he thinks he's Kareem-Abdul Gortat."

The good part is that Van Gundy isn't being publicly questioned by Dwight Howard. If that were the case, he'd probably be out of a job. But, honestly, do you really want your role players second-guessing your coach?

Coming soon: Reserve center Adonal Foyle rips Van Gundy to a Carribbean newspaper and veteran backup point guard Anthony Johnson lambastes Van Gundy in an interview with a reporter from AARP Illustrated.

Seriously, it's one thing when Shaq calls Van Gundy a "Master of Panic" from afar, but to have Gortat say it from the end of the Magic bench is a bit troubling.

Surely, everybody is going to laugh off Gortat's criticism because it came from a second-year backup from Poland, but it's never good when a player criticizes his own coach -- no matter what language it's in.

Your thoughts on Gortat's criticism?

As far as Dwight goes he does have a complaint and a very valid one. Everybody knows when you have a big lead in the fourth quarter you want to milk the clock and slow the game down. Instead they chuck wild three after shot after bad shot. I don't care if he isn't the greatest offense player in the world you have to put the ball in his hands at some point and force the Celtics to do something. If anything he at least draw fouls. They had Big Baby on him for a lil while. Come on now there is no way Big Baby can guard him. I would much rather put the ball in his hands and give him a chance to make something happen than watch Rafer and Lewis put up piss poor shots over and over again.

Agreed PrettyT11....It is the playoffs after all, you cant just ignore the inside. That's the moment your inside presence is the most important, and its something ORL has an advantage over them. Dwight and Battie are too big for what Boston has right now.

I honestly don't think Dwight has an argument here at all.

He just isn't very good with the ball in his hands. He has bare bones post moves and just isn't very skilled inside. He looks so easy to defend.

It's been five years, and his offensive repertoire is still so limited.

Add that to the fact that he tends to driblle too much and turn the ball over, he is not the best at passing out of the post, and he can't shoot free throws.

Can one really blame SVG for not feeding him the ball especially towards the end of the game?

Yes but he still command a double team. Plus he's good enough passer to setup better shots then they got last night.

yeah , but they didnt even use that gameplan in the end. they just forced up 3pt shots.

that is why i think he is over-rated. i think if he was a little more dominant on the offensive end he would get the respect.

he needs to work on some post up moves and other shot selections. he has the athleticism, but he just needs to work on the shot fundamentals.

Definitely agree that he may be limited in some aspects of the game, definitely has some improving to do to become a GREAT big. With that said, he's still probably the best center in a center-starved league so he's not that "over-rated".
