Jordan may have taken more shots but look at the FG% Kobe's best ever FG% was 46.9, Jordan's best was 53.9. Excluding the two comeback seasons, Jordan's worst ever FG% was 44.5 and that was this season at 40. I agree he hoisted up quite a lot of shots but when you make over 50% of em I think it's ok.

Re: Kobe is not the next MJ
one of the reasons kobe didnt win teh mvp is cause shaq is on that team. come on if jordan the most dominating player on his team how many mvps would he have won. MVP is nice but i dont think you should solely use that to evaluate if aplyer is good.Comment

Yo Sarah did u even watch MJ play when he was kobes age. Damn think before you post.Jordan was the biggest ball hog and would jack up like 30 shots a game. he makes kobe look like jason kidd. MJ didnt trust his teammates till he was 28 and thats when he won championships. Kobe does sometiems force the actions but he does get mroe assists than most guards in teh league. in game 6 he passed up a lot of shots to pass to hsi teammates and you saw how great the lakers did in that game. Kobe will be more mature and know when to be agressive and passive as his career goes on but he is not a ballhog.

I was still very young during the time when Jordan entered the league. I know nim when he won 2 slam dunk champoinship.
The idea is it is alright to be a ball hog as long as the team improves. High percentage and less turnover is what a team needs to a one man team.
From what I have seen from the videos of his basketball career, Bulls improves every year of Jordan career. And to think during that time he is banging heads with NBA's strongest years. He became the most successful player among his batch. He manage to separate himself from comparison from other players. He destroys the dreams of the greatest player of his era. Stocton-Malone, Barkley, Drexler-Porter, Cavs prime with Price, Ewing, O'neal-Penny, Kemp, David Robinson, Mumtombo, Hornets team with Alonzo-L. Johnson, Glen Rice to name some.
And the players of today are all showtime and picture statistics. Sad they never met those players Jordan faced. They only meet Alonzo, Shaq, Duncan and Kidd to name a few. But if I forgot to mention someone not that many.
I think T-mac and Kobe will have all kinds of injury and reasons not to enter the fortified wall of the Pistons Bad Boys. Even Jordan find it the hard way.
And if yo think Ben Wallace is tough, and Iverson already has trouble with him, just imagine 3 Wallace on the Pistonsto challenge your shot.
Reason why a lot of people hate Kobe since he always take credit on the Lakers success. Of course he also takes blame if they fail. The thing is the only reason he can score and dunk on everybody is because no one in the NBA is left to thow a blanket on him. And if there is, only a few. If one of this years Kobe will move nd he will face Shaq,O'neal is just 1 of the people left that still has the skills of the NBa's past greatness. But not that many.Comment
