    What happened to Orlando?!

I'm sorry, but they are potentially losing 4 key members of their NBA finals roster and it doesn't make sense to me. You would think that some of them would have stayed on the team to try and get back there, but now it looks like they were content with just getting there.

Yes, some of it has to do with the front office making a move (getting Vince), but it just seems wrong.

    - Turk
    - Lee
    - Gortat
    - Alston
    + Vince Carter

Super star center doesn't appear to like his head coach. Head coach doesn't appear to know how to make good in game moves....

    Re: What happened to Orlando?!

Actually I think Dwight likes Van Gundy it was just a very public disagreement. Van Gundy seems to know how to push Dwight's buttons. The main problem is that Van Gundy is one of those coaches that has a very short shelf life and players get tired of his "rah rah" motor mouth approach to getting teams motivated.

He's not THAT bad at in game decisions from what i've seen but he made some tactical errors in the finals but I don't think that's indicative of his approach all the time. I'm pretty sure the players that left went out for the big pay day. I mean Gortat is never gonna big money like Dallas is offering ever again. Those guys are just maximizing their checkbook so to speak.

It IS a bit troubling that Turk and Lee are gone and I really think it may be because of Van Gundy overbearing style that drove them to leave for situations where the coach isn't always in their face like that.

I think Turk leaving says something about him not liking something with the organization. I mean yeah Toronto and Portland offered more money and might just be a cash grab but it's not like Orlando first offered him chump change. I believe there is something else playing a role in his leaving when you look at the type of lineup they could put out there I couldn't just see leaving a winning team like that for a couple mil.

I still think Orlando will be rack back in the hunt for the Eastern conference with the team they have now. People are really underestimating what Vince can bring to this team and he is an upgrade over Turk. I also think people are forgetting about how good Pietrus was in the playoffs and what he could bring if he stays healthy. That man has some skills and can guard whoever the other teams best perimeter threat is. Alston won't be missed much cause a healthy Nelson is by far a better option than Rafer. There still isn't an answer for Dwight and they only man in the East that could stand a chance of slowing him down is Perkins. If they stay healthy they will still be a major force.

Alston was Nelson's replacement when he went down with an injury. With Nelson healthy there is absolutely no need for Alston. If you would rather have Alston than a healthy Nelson then you must be smoking something funky. We win big here.

Losing Turkoglu sucks, but I like Carter better myself. He is a proven clutch shooter who can hit every shot on the court much like Turk can, but he attacks the basket better especially for a guy 4 inches shorter. Also, Carter only has a ridiculous contract for two years as opposed to the five years that Turk just got. We win small here.

Lee had a solid rookie year but he also had a lot more opportunities to play than Anderson did. In fact, Anderson was taken one spot ahead of Lee in the same draft and is a 6'10" guy that can shoot well from beyond the arc and can create matchup problems with his length. Lee is already a proven NBA starter though so it does hurt losing him, although Anderson has almost as much potential down the line. We lose small here.

I love Gortat and it really blows losing him, but I will save judgment until we sign his replacment. I know the Magic are after both Brandon Bass and Rasheed Wallace and either one of them would be a solid contributor. But as of now, we don't have anyone to take Gortat's place. We lose big here. For now.

In about a week or two we'll know a lot more, so let's wait until then.

Ryan Anderson was a steal...He's gonna be a good player for the Magic.

Hey man he's a solid solid player, but he's not this great player like everyone wants to proclaim him.

That's exactly why I am happier with Vince Carter.

The only player they lost is Turk.

VC and the return of Nelson are HUGE upgrades over Rafer and Lee.

Gortat's over-inflated impact has become something of a mystery to me. He played about 10 minutes a game in the playoffs. He's a solid backup, but replaceable.

Turk is a good player, but his contract is a joke. He's borderline worth $10.6 million now, but in the last 3 years of his contract, he's going to be a joke for that money.

                      It's really not that bad...

Especially when AK 47 is making 16 and 17 million the next two seasons...

I see people still continue to underestimate the impact Vince can bring to that team. I hope the Magic are even more hungrier to get back to the Finals next year.

Like I told Brankles, Magic Fans you are going to love Ryan Anderson and hope Van Gundy gives him significant minutes.

I hear you, my man. I am big on Anderson as well. I think he will get damn near 20 minutes a game, especially since we haven't signed a legit backup C/PF yet. He can play both the 3 and 4, right?

Yeah the kid is seriously good. The way Frank used him though, was just weird. He never got consistent minutes. On a non playoff team rookies should get that IMO.

And holy **** at AK 47 making that much money. I had no idea
