Hey, man. I'm on your side. I think it takes a brain already impaired to see idiots high, & hooked (as some argue its non-addictive), on weed do the stupid things that they do & then not only deny its affects, but join in on the stupidity.

i dont personally smoke marijuana...so if your comment was directed at me u missed.

anyway though im not going to turn this into a debate about the use or effect of Canibus.

The kid just needs to grow up...but hes not some detriment to society...hes just following what half the league does anyway...hes not a good leader...big whoop

More than half of America is obese, but that doesn't mean we should say that's cool. If that high of a number of NBA players smoke weed, then they have a serious problem on their hands.

I've always found fault with the line of thinking that because "X" number of people do drugs, or whatever, it doesn't matter, that it's ok, or socially acceptable. It's still, like it or not, illegal, so why take the risk?

its only unacceptable if you are abusing it...IMO anyway.

I had no individual in mind. I wouldn't call someone I don't know a dopehead. It was directed to anybody who w/their power of reason thinks pot causes no harm.

I don't think Jon was referring to you at all.

I actually agree with everything else you said though, except again, I don't think the "well everyone else does it" is a legitimate reason to do something. Marijuana isn't Heroin or Cocaine, and as far as we know, Beasley isn't a danger to society, so sure, this isn't a big deal, but it's sad to see (another) young man with all the world in his hand, feel the need to have to resort to drugs.

I just hope he gets help for whatever he needs rehab for.

I have to go pick up my son from school so I have to make this short.....typically, in a society, doing something illegal, or against the rules of your employer (Heat, NBA, etc) is deemed unacceptable.

Example, your boss says you start work at 9:00 AM, you notice mostly everyone else comes in at 9:15. Is it then acceptable behavior for YOU to start coming in at 9:15, just because you notice half or more of your coworkers come in later?

I'm not for running anyones life, we all have free will, but I hate seeing some of the decisions these guys make and I wonder how many of those decisions are "peer pressure" type things because they somehow think that because a lot of other athletes smoke weed or do steroids, they feel they have to as well. I just wanna get in their faces and scream "Think for yourself!" at them.

thats nto an excuse for people who choose to use it, just a fact.

theyre both "bad" when it comes to your health and well being...ones worse than the other but it doesnt make it "right"...whatever that means.

people choose to relax in different ways, and i dont think it is really our right to say someone is an idiot, or wasting thier life, when we find out they smoke weed (which was created, not manufactured...again just MO which, in the grand scheme of things means next to nothing

I can't see how breathing smoke could ever be useful. Then you add the chemical properties that go to the brain. Why would anyone think that's harmless? One glass of alcohol doesn't cause the damage & changes one joint does. You have to drink alot to get drunk. You just have to smoke once to get high.

That's not necessarily true. It depends on the drink and the individual. The same goes for marijuna, it depends on the amount and the individual. I saw a 110 pound girl smoke 5 joints and not get high, yet got pissy drunk from one glass of a Long Island iced tea. If you have never gotten high, how do you know how much it takes?
