The Spurs make a lot of sense. It would be similar to Randy Moss going to New England. I don't think A.I. would mess around on that team.

Personally I don't want it to happen though because I hate the Spurs.

A lot of contenders make sense for him. It's just up to him to accept the role of a 6th man and keep his trap shut. He's doing a pretty ****ty job so far.

Bingo. Because AI is all about AI. It's always somebody else's fault.

“There was no misunderstanding,” Hollins said of the bizarre breakup with Iverson. “He knew what his role was when we met in Atlanta (over the summer), that he would have a chance to compete for a starting job, but even if he looked like the better person for the starting position, that I was going to do what was best for the team. I was going to start the person who I felt needed to start.”

While acknowledging Iverson’s talent for scoring, Hollins strongly hinted that Iverson didn’t have the willingness to be a well-rounded veteran for a young team in need of guidance.

“He scored like he always scored,” Hollins said. “But there’s more to grasp to this game ... you have to play defense, you have to rebound. Guys who are talented score in this league, but there have been a lot of guys who have scored and never won. And you wonder why all these teams with young guys who are scoring 20 points a game aren’t winning. It’s not just about scoring.

“You get older, and young guys come in and take over ... If you want to stay around, continue to have fun and enjoy this lifestyle, adjustments have to be made.

Hollins is lucky if he makes it past the year with the job, i think he's a horrible coach

Two good articles on things as they currently stand:
Allen Iverson is officially out of options. The New York Knicks even turned him down. It is amazing how delusional the GM's and executives are in the NBA...

The man affectionately known as the "Answer” goes by a new nickname now, the "Cancer". For those who haven't quite figured it out, the man I am writing about is Allen Iverson, who is in my opinion, the best scorer to ever play the game...

I wouldn't mind seeing the Celtics pick him up. Maybe he'll succeed where Cassell & Marbury didn't.

Re: AI/Grizzlies agree to terminate contract

I didn't even think about the Celtics and Lakers... both have bench guard issues (Boston doesn't have a real backup PG.. AI's WAY more of a PG than House is) and would be able to afford taking on $1.3 mil of salary even though they're in the luxury tax. The Lakers could really use him paired with Shannon Brown for a dynamic backcourt off the bench.. jesus, that 2nd unit with Odom out there would be crazy.

I think the Knicks might cave after losing more games though...

The Lakers ALREADY have a all star team.

adding A.I to replace jordan farmar would be absolutly ridiculous

I will bet anyone any amount of money that AI won't be wearing purple and gold.

Sure their guard play is perhaps their biggest weakness, but their issues have nothing to do with producing offense. On defense is what they struggle with. AI won't address that issue.

LA doesn't need another scorer.. I really struggled to keep this post as respectful as possible. AI in purple in gold is probably the stupidest thing I have heard in a while.

Yeah it won't happen, I was just thinking in terms of personnel, it's a pretty good fit. Farmar and Vujacic have been garbage, Shannon Brown is a decent enough defender. That article just made me think about it -- I just sort of glossed over those teams since they're already so stacked and championship-ready, but both are about as good of a fit as anywhere else, especially since AI would likely be okay with a more limited role if he was basically getting carried to a championship.

I wasn't directing my comments towards anyone, just at the notion or if any article even suggested such a move.

Also Shannon does not cut it on defense. Just look back to last year's playoffs and this year against Denver. Both in pre season and regular season Denver did whatever they wanted to LA's guards.

Farmar and Shannon can hold it down just fine on offense. LA doesn't need another player like AI.

Anyway AI should go help out Wade.

It is also the ugliest picture visually I can imagine. Like seeing Nique in a Boston uniform. I also despise the Lakers and that would give me an excuse to want to see them win.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.
