Mavs have had injury problems but are still 9-3, first in the SW, and second in the west early on....much better than starting 2-7 and having to fight uphill all season like last season

They have looked pretty darn good all year. Had they made one or two more free throws against Utah we would be looking at 10-2. Dirk is on a roll right now. Once Howard, Marion, and Damp get healthy then lookout.

They were like 10-10 in the 2004 season I think.

RJ doesn't suit this team, but Pops rotations are certainly strange at times.

I know this is gonna sound stupid but the Spurs who (even during their championship seasons) have always had question marks over their scoring ability and can really go cold at any given time, could really use Allen Iverson. I know I've joked and dreamed about him being on the team for many years but having him either backing up and also on court with Parker would be pretty crazy. And in the few rare times Iverson has had a good big (even remembering USA and All Star games) he has played better and passed very well.

Anyway, just another dream that will never happen. Well played Mavs

Well, last season the Spurs started off 1-4, so I'm not too worried yet, although it certainly doesn't look good.

mavs .. another team i think are going to have a big year and are legit contenders .. don't forget kidd has much more time with the offense under his belt .. plenty of chemistry to go around.. marion looks rejuvenated.. humphries was a very nice pick up.. damp looks motivated and in shape .. terry is playing great basketball.. dirk is coming off 4 months of rest for the first time in a long time. they can legitimately give any team in the NBA a run for their money come playoff time.

same with the hawks , another sleeper pick of mine. they can also make serious noise in the east. obviously the suns are up there too and looking really good. the playoffs this year are going to be epic

and yeah, pops rotations are strange .. right now they seem to be figuring things out ..they have a lot of players and he's seeing who can do what .. once it settles down into a solid rotation and the new guys are more comfortable i think things will pick up . they are not looking good early though .

                    doh, that's right...I stand corrected

but they have had good starts in their contending seasons

I wonder if the spurs are finally at the point where the Parker-Manu-Duncan trio cant be relied upon to stay healthy, consistantly.

Cant be too hard on Pop for his rotations when Manu cant make it past the 10 minute mark last night.

RJ looks to be playing pretty well, and Duncan is well..Duncan.

I never count the Spurs out as dead and burried until they are eliminated though.

When those 3 are all on the court and healthy, then can handle anyone.

In other news..looks like Trevor Ariza has come crashing back down to earth.

Life is different when you have to create shots for yourself, and score off of the dribble.

Missed the games last night hanging out with this new chick: checked the recaps. Griz won, Jazz won and cousin was the topic again for his play...and I won too.

When will the Nets get a dang win... 0-12 cmon. Havent payed attention to them but is someone injured or do they just stink? LOL
No Devin Harris, Courtney Lee, Keyon Dooling, Yi, or Jarvis Hayes. Definitely alot better than 0-12 when those guys are healthy but when 4 of your top 5 highest scorers are hurt, it's impossible to win a game when you can't score, regardless of what ANYBODY says.

I don't think there's a player in the NBA playing worse than Roger Mason Jr. right now.
