Wow, that sounds familiar. Has Cleveland won a ring in the 7 years LeBron has been there? What's even funnier is the T-Wolves went to a Western Conference final one year I believe but its very similiar. Lebron gets ripped for not having multiple rings, He wants to go to a situation much like Charles Haley, Deion Sanders to the Cowboys and a bunch of players to the Yankees, to win multiple rings.

Basketball doesn't compare to other sports because of the size of the rosters, and impact of individual players. Since a great player is 1/5th of the production of a team for about 39 mins, a 15 year career is a pretty good window to surround him with enough talent to win a ring. It's not like in other sports where the offense and defense aren't on the playing area at the same time, and consequently requiring different personnel. That's why there are only 6 MVPs in history that have not won at least one ring, and even those guys have mostly come within a game or two of getting a ring, with the exception of Steve Nash who is widely considered to have stolen two MVP awards from Jason Kidd, Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant.

Even so, LeBron would have to sign another contract with the Cavs to match what KG did because he was with the Wolves for 12 years. And how are those players often looked at? Do you know why A-Rod went through what he went through? Because Jeter has been here the whole time and has already won here, and A-Rod looked to be all about the money and not the rings. Now comparing A-Rod and LeBron, and Wade and Jeter, now that would be kind of similar.

If Lebron does complete this real life nWo heel turn, I don't know if my initial reaction will be to either laugh or just be shocked that he really did this.

You have an reigning MVP on a 60+ win team who appeared to quit on that team in the playoffs, leaving his home town to join another MVP candidate with another top 10 player on that team. Not in a trade, there is no player being drafted into this situation. Lebron would be opting out. Jumping ship.

And again, he's not leaving a losing situation in the least. His team had the best record in the NBA last year. He's folding on a good hand because he's scared if he goes to Miami.
The point I was making is their have been teams so superior to their foes in the past before. And check the records, Dennis Johnson was an MVP candidate at the point of the trade. I was a die hard Mavs fan for years and years. I left the Mavs when we fired Avery, but I still follow Dirk's career. Eveybody calls Dirk soft etc because of playoff failures. Dirk should've bounced but he stated he just didn't want to start over because he is comfortable. You don't think Lebron is tired of having to carry all the weight in Cleveland, coupled with the fact he can win now with friends who are also great. None of us would turn that down.

having seen all of Karl Malone's career, I bet you that privately Malone is saying I should've done this in my prime. Utah tried and tried, but what if Malone would have been on the Bulls instead of Ho Grant?

Since when has winning without cheating been a bad thing?

who's going to play center on miami? no way bosh is going to play gasol, bynum, or howard? they need a brandon haywood and probably o'neal to round out their depth.

Right on point, Born. Baseball players have spokesmen, who lead the team by hardwork and/or consistent play. Occasionally, their independent play may or my not affect the outcome of a game. In the game of basketball, the star player effects the game practically every night one way or the other. Individual basketball players affect their sport far more than baseball and football players affect their sport. There is no comparison.

They have the most talent, but they're probably the worst fit for Lebron.
You didn't say anything about Rose. But your implication that Baron Davis would take the pressure off of LeBron is implying that Rose cannot do the same. And as far as Baron goes, he's not that much better stretching the floor as Rose is. Rose 3PT% from last year: .267. You know what Baron Davis' was? .277 Not much of a difference.

I understand your points on how the teams are constructed now. Yes, a guy like Eric Gordon would be able to stretch the court with his shooting. BUT in the end, LeBron really needs someone that can, as you said before, 'take some pressure off of him' and Rose is just that type of player. Just putting shooters around LeBron doesn't seem to work. Cleveland has been doing it for the past couple of years and they failed to advance to the Finals. They need more than shooters. But I would say this much, obtaining a player to 'take some of the pressure off LeBron' is much harder finding than finding a shooter. Shooters are a dime-a-dozen. The Bulls already have that complementary in place in Rose and pretty soon they will be signing either Kyle Korver or JJ Reddick.
