Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
No because it isn't a big blow to the Heat if Lebron decides against Miami unless it involves Wade and Bosh leaving too. Alonzo Mourning's Kidney issue was a much bigger blow to the franchise and city than Lebron not coming. As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

I'll believe it when I see it, but regardless of "The Decision" I gotta give Bron and co. props for taking complete control of their destinies, and not being the pawns your average athelete really is. They've changed the face of free agency, and done it on their terms...plus probably gotten more money than they would have under a new CBA.
Don't know how history will judge this type of player collusion, but kudos for not letting agents, owners and the league itself use them like puppets.
If this is true, wow...My team just went from contenders to the lottery in one fell swoop. Sweet.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Oh my Lord....
If Lebron breaks everyone's heart in Cleveland to go to what looks like the easy way out in terms of winning a championship then I will have lost any shred of respect I had for the guy. I mean I can understand wanting to go out and being your own man but to basically do a Hulk Hogan style heel turn and join Hall and Nash (Bosh and Wade) is just beyond the pale.

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
I asked at work today if anyone was following the LBJ story (all hard core sports guys).........and not a single one could care less.
As a global sport, the NBA and basketball died everywhere in the world except China the day Michael Jordan retiredIt's so far behind the Eng Premier League to not even be worthy of mentioning in the same sentence nowadays. The EPL is, literally, about a million times more popular worldwide.

It will judge it very, very poorly Mac.
People here are mentioning Man United and Barcelona.......those are MASSIVE clubs worldwide with millions upon millions of supporters.
The Miami Heat...........are barely known.
Those other leagues are as boring as hell, with the same teams winning over...and over...and over...and over...again for decades. Those leagues survive because their supporter bases are entrenched. Those teams are parts of world culture. Manchester United is 10000000 times bigger than the LA Lakers worldwide. Those leagues survive being boring and predictable as they are so big.
The NBA.....with a league that maybe 3-4 teams will have any sort of chance over the next decade.......will be a farce bro. Interest will decline dramatically.
The exciting thing about the NBA has always been that feeling that one of a dozen could maybe win it most seasons.
This is just going to be bad for the game and it screams of "the softp__________option". Miami will always be Wade's team.
I really can't see LBJ taking that option. I just don't see it.Comment
