    Agree with this post.

I don't know, some fans of teams trying to get him wouldn't react like this if they signed for their team. Lots of sour grapes being passed around.

You're kidding, right? Why the hell would they do that? He's the local boy who was supposed to get them a championship and bailed on them... and there's the perception that he quit on them in the Boston series. So why would you retire his number? Heck I'd give next year's first round pick #23 just to let fans know the team had moved on.

Heck at least here in Phoenix we can go ahead and put Amare in the Ring of Honor because everyone knew he wanted out or wanted a max deal, everyone knew ownership wasn't going to pay that, and knew that they have been actively shopping him the last two seasons. There's no hard feelings here, and in fact owner Robert Sarver made it a point to suggest the team would put him in the Ring once her retired.

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat

Do yall seriously think that Lebron set all this up himself?

This was the biggest free agent signing period in NBA history and he was the #1 guy people were after. Everyone involved saw doller signs pointing to this day. I have no doubts that the corporate suits had more involvement than Lebron himself.

The people that run the sports teams and sponsers etc are all out to capitalize on anything that makes them more money. They saw this as a huge opportunity to get extra milk out of a cow.

Dont see why him going to Miami is such a huge issue with people. Had he chosen whatever team your particularly rooting for at the time, it would have been the best decsion ever, however since he chose a different team than you root for, lets blast him.

Im sure there was so much red tape involved in getting this production on air than many people realize and they just piggy backed off of Lebron to make extra money themselves.

Cleveland knew this day was coming 7 years ago...right down to the very day it could happen. Free agency is nothing new. He signed with Cleveland, played his contract out, and moved on. There is nothing to hate the guy for.

He is the only reason people outside of Ohio know that there is a pro team located there.

Will there be a bunch of Miami fans now? Of course. Miami doesnt have that big of a fan base at all, but I can assure you the stands will be packed and sponsers will just throw money at that franchise now....which is the name of the game these days.

I have no clue why everyone singles out the Miami signing as something thats a tragedy, when signing with pretty much any of the other teams would have been the same thing. There are stars on pretty much every team he was looking at, so I have no idea for all the hatred on him playing with Wade. The Bulls had a team of stars, the Lakers, the Celtics, the Blazers, the Spurs....all of them were the same, why is this signing treated differently?

Let the man have some fun. This is the first time in his career that HE got to choose where he went, versus someone else choosing for him. Everyone is critcizing him for doing what he wants and not what they want him to do.

He worked hard to get to where he is at now, he made basketball in Cleveland relevant, he made the people of Cleveland millions of dollars, and he set NBA records yearly while doing it on one of the worst franchises in NBA history. Its time to cut the man some slack.

To be a homer he'd have to actually have been a fan of the team for more than a few hours.

Thats because bosh, wade, and lebron planned this. It wasnt a last minute decision. Lebron is a complete liar. Does he think were stupid enough to believe he decided this morning? If thats the case, the dude has less of a clue what he wants then brett favre.

I don't know if I buy it. You mean to tell me LeBron and Cleveland didn't talk ONCE since the end of the season? Through all the head coach discussions, through all the contract offer stuff, through all the attempts to get other guys to come to Cleveland to keep him happy? I don't buy it. Not to that extent.

At this point, I would not be shocked if Gilbert held a 2 hour, Al Davis Style press conference complete with overhead projector and phone records.

I'd be happy if he did, I want him to prove that statement.

If that REALLY happened, then LeBron is a piece of **** of **** proportions and my dislike of him jumps even more.

Good luck to LeBron...hope he gets what he's looking for. Gilbert and the can't complain when he's been an enabler up until a few hours ago, lol.

I pretty much think these three guys have planned this for years tho, IMO...maybe not expecting it to work out, but talking about it seriously. I don't get too much into the loyalty thing...if Lebron sucked, no one here would give two sh*ts where he played. If Jawad, who is actually from CLE were traded for CP3 today, no one would care one iota. The only thing that bothers me is that the Heat got into this position by pretty much sacrificing 2 seasons to get into this position. The Cavs never had that option. Had we not made any moves, or gutted the team for a couple years to get better in the long run, James would have likely been livid, and demanded a trade. We were forced to make band-aid type trades instead of ever really implementing a long-term plan. Wade was patient after getting a ring. We didn't have that luxury. Our way got us close, so I guess Ferry did the best he could...but I really hate to see or hear the opinion that its somehow the Cavs fault for not having any way to bring in top-shelf talent.

Like OSU said earlier, In know alot of folks would LOVE for us to be devastated...but looking at our history, this is nothing new, lol.

                              Rebuild and keep it movin'.
