I'm really getting sick of these comments. Again, there is no 'second banana' syndrome that is applied to him potentially playing for the Bulls. If you're using that logic, then Chicago might as well fold the franchise because nobody will be good enough.

Shoot, they should've folded the Celtics after Russell left. UCLA should've shut down the men's team after Wooden retired.

Someone call Jerry and tell him close up shop.

I don't really think this will play a factor in Lebron's decision, but there's a difference between playing for a team that someone won a lot of championships with and playing for a team where the greatest player in NBA history played and you are compared to him every day of your life.

So his answer would be to bitch out and play for someone else?? What kind of message does that send?

And doesn't MJ's legacy hover over the entire NBA and not just the Bulls?

Last time I checked, Kobe was constantly compared to Michael and he plays for the Lakers.

Bottomline, the argument that LeBron won't come here because of MJ, is so weak, and quite frankly, oblivious.

LeBron Isn't House Hunting In Chicago

          May 20, 2010 3:12 PM EST

There is no truth to rumors that LeBron James is house hunting in Highland Park, writes the Chicago Tribune.

Rumors swirled that James was looking for real estate in Chicago, with some even suggesting he was doing so with Michael Jordan.

Matt Silver, an Evanston real estate agent, told the Tribune that he does not believe the rumors.

"I got about 20 text messages today from about six or eight agents, who were like, 'Are you working with (James)?' I said: 'What are you talking about?' " Silver said.

"I am pretty quiet about stuff (involving celebs). But there are lots of people in my profession who can't keep their mouth shut."

Playing in the same place as Jordan may or not be a factor for Lebron, but if you can't see that there is a difference between being compared to Jordan as a Cav versus as a Bull, that is being oblivious.

Eh, who knows. I'm sure at some point he'll look at houses around here if he hasn't already. Same for NY.

There is a difference but no one really knows for sure what impact it plays for LBJ, if any.

What I'm saying is that I know for a fact, because I live here and obviously know the people, that we don't expect him to 'compete' with MJ.

Why? Because there is no comparison. If he does come here and lets say in 3 years, he doesn't win, then yes there will be some talk. But to say he has to win 6 or 7 championships is uninformed.

Whether or not LeBron had a say in these moves, it's funny when people try to say "oh, isn't this what LeBron wanted, he got his players, so what's the excuse now?"

                      That's downright comedy.
                      It really isn't.

Cuban says Dallas will pursue LBJ.

"Come July 1st, yeah, of course, anybody would be interested in LeBron James, and if he leaves via free agency, then it's going to be tough," Cuban said. "If he does like I'm guessing, hoping he will, which is say, 'I'm not going to leave the Cavs high and dry,' if he decides to leave -- there's still a better chance he stays -- then he'll try to force a sign-and-trade, and that gives us a chance."

"I don't know, don't know. What I do know about LeBron in the minimal time I've spent talking to him is he just wants to win. Money's not his issue. He needs to be some place where he trusts the organization. And look, [owner] Dan Gilbert in Cleveland did everything he possibly could, that's just the way the game works. If there was a template that we all could follow, we'd all have championship rings."
This could fall under the tampering guidelines. If it does, the Mavs might face some really serious fines. Up to Stern now.

We all know LBJ is an egomaniac but I really don't think MJ's legacy would keep him from going to Chicago. That's just way overboard IMO, even LeBron isn't that ********.

He's definitely getting fined for that. He won't be the first at least...

A source told Frank Isola that Daryl Morey (Rockets' GM) was fined by the NBA league office for giving an opinion on the collective bargaining agreement in a discussion with Bill Simmons of ESPN.

The fine on Morey is believed to be $100,000.

Isola also states that Donnie Walsh is careful to avoid public statements about LeBron James because of how controversial the idea of James joining the Knicks is around the league.

"The Knicks president is more mindful of tampering than any other team executive because he knows that few want to see LeBron end up in New York and will do anything to prevent it," writes Isola.
Just makes you wonder, how do men in their positions not know the rules regarding this stuff?
