I disagree, but you are entitled to your opinion that was probably the polar opposite a few months ago.

[sarcasm]If the amazingly accurate simulation engine in nba 2k10 is anything to go by (and we know it always provides immaculate simulation results ) the Heat will become LeBron's team and he will win the next 3 MVP's. [/sarcasm]

That's a trick question; Deng was sent to L.A. in the deal that never happened.

Obviously that was the hangup but my post went on the assumption that other players would have been involved.

            Fair enough.

However, in regards to your hypothetical, the comparison doesn't work. Deng, Harris, Amare, and Z were all title-less on their respective teams. Wade is already the alpha-male in Miami AND he's led the team to a title.

He's led them to 3 first round exits and one of the worst teams of all time the past four years.

If LeBron gets traded to the Lakers in '08 (not realistic, just a hypothetical), who's the man in L.A.?

Kobe was better than Lebron in 2008 and has shown an absolute need to be "the man."

In my opinion Kobe is the only player in the NBA who is actually "the man." Yes, Duncan, Dirk, Dwight, Melo, Bosh, Lebron, Wade, and others were all clearly the best players on their team, but Kobe to me is the only guy in the NBA who actually cares about being the indisputable best player on the team and wanting the most glory.

I would agree that Kobe is on a completely different level, but the best player will still usually be the outright leader of a team, although there are a few exceptions. The exceptions are for guys like Paul Pierce and Dwayne Wade who've been with the team longer than any other player on their respective teams, and are only marginally worse than the best player on their team who is a newcomer. We saw KG and Ray Allen defer to Pierce in Boston, and I honestly don't think their is a better comparison in the history of the NBA to the Heat's situation.

Says the guy who openly admitted to jumping on the Heat bandwagon. Smh. Your opinion on any basketball topic in general is virtually irrelevant, especially when it involves LeBron being better than Michael at anything.

Still has 1 more than LeBron, and is still living in Wade county...get real.

We also saw Pierce differ to Allen at times. IIRC Pierce was the third or fourth leading scorer on the Celtics in the closeout game of the finals.

However the bigger difference between the Celtics and the Heat is that Pierce had by far the best all around offensive game while Lebron and Wade are about even with maybe a slight advantage to Lebron.

I don't think anyone on the Heat has to defer to anyone. Lebron and Wade will attack the basket, Bosh will get his, and Miller will make open threes.

                          Which are what exactly?

                          Because he left Cleveland?
Because he teamed up with Wade?

                              Which skills are these?

LeBron can handle the ball better than Jordan, has more range on his jumper, more size and speed he's a better passer and just as good if not a better on ball defender. Jordan was a more consistant mid range shooter but that was later in his career.
