If the only reason that people hated him now was because of the TV special, and the way he handled the whole process, I'd agree with people ripping him for this. But lots of people hate him just because he decided to team up with Wade and Bosh, because he just cares about winning, not winning while being the guy. Which makes no sense because Kobe was ripped for years for being the opposite.

Re: The LeBron James Saga
I read it in a magazine dont remember the name it was last year, it was clearly nike basketball not retros, or anything like that nike basketball only brings in 1 billion of the 19 billion nike makes. the top 3 were LBjs, Kobes, and Original Hyperdunks in no orderComment

Re: The LeBron James Saga
It's just like the Dez Bryant thread before the NFL draft this year. People were making fun of him and basically saying he has an elementary education because of the way he talks.
Also, the turn on LeBron is at least somewhat close to the turn that happened to Michael Vick. The difference being that there was a good reason for people turning on Michael Vick, whereas with LeBron, unless you're from Cleveland or are a Cavaliers fan, you don't have much of a good reason to be hating on him. The main people that are seem to be Kobe stans, LeBron detractors that want to jump on anything the guy does wrong, or people whose teams missed out on LeBron this summer.
BTW before someone tries to flip this on me, I'm not AT ALL saying The Decision should be defended. It shouldn't. It was a joke. But at this point some of the things being said (not just on this forum) are well past The Decision and have nothing to do with it, other than blindly trashing the guy for anything he does based off those person's agendas.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: The LeBron James Saga
LeBron does not appear intelligent to me in interviews. It's not because I hate him. His vocabulary is a bit limited and he tends to use cliche phrases instead of unique thought.
Maybe that's his style, and he's completely capable of more intelligent sounding thoughts and has a vast vocabulary beyond my imagination. I don't know him.
But he certainly appears unintelligent to me.Bears | Bulls | Cubs | Illinois | #Team3Some

Re: The LeBron James Saga
No it's still not close. Even before the who Dogfighting/Gambling thing went down with Vick, there were still plenty of people who didn't like Vick because they didn't think he was any good(speaking as far as Pure QB Ability). The Dogfighting mess just made it even worse for him.

Just throwing it out there, Dennis Rodman is a guy who doesn't strike me as intelligent off the court, and to an extent Michael Jordan as well. His HoF speech was far from articulate.Bears | Bulls | Cubs | Illinois | #Team3Some

You know what I love? Sarcastic use of hyperbole to try and undermine a legitimate point.

From my view I disagree with thinking that people are dumb or not intelligent because of some of the words they use or the way they talk. We might as well label damn near every athlete dumb then because in nearly every interview you'll always hear "Ummm...Ummmm....Uhhh" or "You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying?" (Kenyon Martin being the king of that, lol) but we'll just agree to disagree, since I respect a lot of your posts.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. Re: The LeBron James Saga
That didn't have anything to do with Jordan. There was no one listening to his speech. He was basically saying that when he (LeBron) gets to the HOF he will have so many "haters" than no one will be in attendance.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Saga
One reason why people couldn't stand him was because of the whole Nike/ESPN mess with the "Chosen One" and all the "King James" stuff(which he fully embraced BTW) when up to this point, he hasn't done anything to merit being called that.
Now whether you think that's a good enough reason, that's up to you to judge but let's not pretend like all of this just magically came out of nowhere in the last couple of months.
And BTW, I'm not a Kobe Stan or someone who's pissed that he didn't sign with my team(since I already knew before hand he wasn't going to NJ)nor am I some Lebron "Hatahhhhhhhh" either. I just don't or choose to praise the ground he walks on or try to give him pass after pass like others choose to do. I actually respect the dude's game and already know that he's a Top 2-3 player in the league and wouldn't think otherwise.#RespectTheCultureComment

I just think that, for the most part, a lot of people fueling LeBron's flame are the ones that are pushing these ridiculous agendas and just using everything they can find wrong with the guy. Then they act like LeBron had this whole thing mapped out just to make stupid Nike commercials, when really it's those people saying ridiculous things and grasping for every hate straw they can get that basically created the commercial.
It's funny because I was extremely pissed after The Decision, but at this point I'm mostly over it just because of the things I see said about LeBron.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: The LeBron James Saga
I'm pretty sure most people didn't really like him even before the commercial came out.(see the last 728 pages of this thread lol)Me personally, I didn't see anything in the Commercial that made me think "See I knew he was an ***hole". I just thought it was funny although not as funny as "The Lebrons" commercials.#RespectTheCultureComment
