Disagree. Those players would have been great, but it is their championship moments which made them legendary. Magic against the Sixers when Kareem was hurt. Jordan's flu game. You can't sit here and say that those guys would hold the same esteem if it wasn't for these championship moments. Not to get too myopic, but that's what's separates the greats from the legends.

And look at how much flak guys like T-Mac, AI, and to a lesser extent Barkley, Ewing, Stockton and Malone get for not winning the big one. It definitely plays a role in how guys are remembered.

Agreed. Those players you mentioned were all-time greats in my eyes. However, to me Jordan, Magic, Bird, Kobe, Shaq, etc. are on another level. Only because they were all-time greats with Championships to boot. And as sad as it is when I think of guys like Stockton, Malone, Ewing and Barkley one of first things that comes to my mind is that they didn't win when it counted.

He deserves to be cheered, the good he gave that city throughout the seven years he was there far outweigh the bad.



Funny they'll pay more to come boo and jeer him then they ever did to cheer and support him.

I'll say the same thing I said when GB fans booed Favre out of Lambeau for the last time- which is: He doesn't deserved to be cheered while in an opposing uniform. When he's retired and comes back, sure. Just not now.

Good points were made recently on this as much as the entire free world hates LeBron James how much would it confuse him if people cheered? How much would it show that the city has moved on if they cheered instead of continuing to feed into this LeBron Owns Cleveland stigma by predictably booing him out of this world? Finally how much would it show LeBron what he lost by cheering?

Cleveland is no Philly... but unfortunately the hype alone will cause LeBron to be booed unmercifully. I'm expecting the absolute worse side of Cleveland fans tomorrow. They've had this date circled since the "Talents to South Beach comments" and anybody that didn't have it circled most certainly is hyped up for the hate by now....

We haven't. It's only been 6 months and this is our first time to blow off steam.

I agree, cheering or anything not along the lines of booing would be the greatest statement that could be made. However, I don't think Cleveland is over him leaving. Short of winning a title, I don't know what it will take.

AJ echoes the same sentiments I feel about Spoelstra as a coach. And people who knows my opinion about him and the Heat get a misconception about my opinion about Spoelstra. Spoelstra is not a bad coach. I just think that he’s not the right coach for this team. And the main reason is because LeBron James, who is his best player, won’t let him coach. Then when he tries to coach, LeBron gets up in arms about someone trying to tell him what to do.
