It just wasn't gonna happen for him with Mo Williams as your second scorer. He had to make a move because people weren't coming up there to play.

Believe in Kyrie. This dude's a winner and he'll bring Cleveland a championship.

I was going to say the samething. I remember when all the movement was happening that off season. And the news that Chris Bosh didn't want to go to cleveland. That was a major sign for LeBron. That no matter how good he could of been. He could of never attracted talent to cleveland. Meaning they would of been stuck through the draft process developing players. But yes LeBron's legacy did change when he left Cleveland. But I think at the end of the day. LeBron is going to sleep better.

But in regard to the Jordan talk. I still can't believe people compare anyone to a God. I mean do people understand what Jordan did? Two 3-peats. Sometimes even I have to wonder if he would of played those 2 season. What would of happen. Like Magic said after Jon Barry said some non-sense. LeBron, Kobe, Himself, and anyone else are not on the same level as Jordan. LeBron would have to win 4 rings at this point to even step near Jordan's level.

Do we really have to go through this again. He couldn't attract Chris Bosh because they were already planning to go to Miami together. I think that 2010 team could have won a title man. We'll never know however cause he quit on them in the middle of their attempt. The same thing he was doing in Cleveland he just did in getting Miami to a title.

Yea... It's been said over and over again. A lot of things have been repeated. Cut me some slack man. My favorite player just won his first ring haha. I've always thought he would of got hurt by now. It's even more sad that I can remember his first game like it was yesterday smh.

Kid got his first. We all know I he ends his career with just one, he will never grace the mount Rushmore of ballers.

I think he needs at least three with a back to back.

Congrats to Lebron on his first ring.

I think Lebron,D.Wade, and Bosh had to know this kind of backlash would come with the success of winning a world title. Same goes for CP3, and Melo and Stat. These guys are comfortable with joining forces in the prime of there career, to chase a ring. As a NBA fan, it would have been great to see Lebron win one for the city of Cleveland, to fight through the adversity to finally conquer the Celtics. That storyline would IMO, make him an even more of a superstar. I take nothing away from the season he had this year and the insane playoffs he had. It's just, that him teaming up with Wade and Bosh, is sort of a cop out. That's just me though.

                    Re: The LeBron James Thread

Well what a ride that was. Looking back on the past nine years (the past two seasons, in particular) I feel like the journey had to end this way. For some reason, it just wouldn't have felt the same if Miami would have won last year and I feel like you did the 2011 Finals to fully appreciate what LeBron was able to accomplish this postseason.

Look at where he was at last year at this time: beaten, broken, scrutinized, mocked, fans/media questioning his alleged greatness and whether or not he had the proper mindset to lead a team to a championship. Without that, this doesn't feel as special. LeBron grew from that experience and the response was a redemption campaign like few we've ever seen. You've got a regular season that at times bordered on historic. The result was a third MVP, but that's old hat for LBJ and nowhere close to what his season would be measured by.

Honestly, what more can be said about the past seven weeks of that guy's life? It just felt rewarding as a fan to see him deliver when it mattered most. Look at the biggest moments of LeBron's postseason and each came when Miami had its back against the wall. Down 2-1 at Indiana without Bosh? 40-18-9. Down 3-2 at Boston and facing elimination? 45-15-5. And then with each game in the Finals, it felt like he got better, scary as it may seem. It was everything fans have craved for out of him...the relentlessness in which he attacked the basket, the selflessness in which he made OKC pay dearly for every double team and of course, hitting big shots and making plays when it mattered most. The result was one of the best individual postseason runs in quite some time and a narrative that couldn't have been composed any better en route to LBJ's first title.

                    "It's about damn time."

I'm happy for him simply because it kills all the Ring Jokes, which were funny for the first year and a half but after a while the same ones were still getting used and they stopped becoming funny altogether.

I'm also happy because we no longer have to hear/see all the stupid "Well, he doesn't have this player/that player/Coaching/Shoes/Favorite Gatorade/Oh it's not his fault" that we had to hear for the last 4-5 years. Those were just as stupid as some of those jokes and I'm just glad both of those are finally dead.

If it had been easy for Bron, Bosh, Wade....had they not been humbled last year....maybe the would feel any criticism that comes their way after winning this title....

But as a competitor, you know when you've earned something, and MIA came together as a team and earned this title in every sense of the world. Despite what any critic may say about this ship, I can't imagine them losing one lick of sleep over it...

                          Re: The LeBron James Thread

                          A few thoughts:

                          1) LeBron didn't need a title to vindicate himself as one of the greats in my eyes. All the talk of him not showing up when it counts was always bogus in my eyes.

                          2) I really can't see eye to eye with anyone who doesn't think any Miami title is tainted. Yes, I'm from Cleveland, but I'm also an NBA "purist" in the sense that Jordan, Magic and Bird winning titles for their original team means something to me. To me, a title for Shaq in Orlando would have meant much more than his titles in L.A. Teams built through the draft and trades have a little more validity than ones put together through free agency (when it's your best player). Both LeBron and Shaq could have won titles with their original teams. If you win 60 games in the league, you're capable.
After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!
