    The LeBron James Thread

I agree wwhart, and we should be consistent with that across the board when it comes to LBJ...

That's what I liked about the "killer" excerpt from the article...LeBron is just....LeBron...

When LeBron doesn't go "MJ, Bird, or Kobe", or mirror their personality we tend to say he's missing something or lacking something as opposed to those guys, when in actuality, LeBron is just a different type of killer, that's why he is unique...and that is what has worked for him...

I think these two sentences sum up best the way that I feel.

I admit I'm nitpicking your choice of words, "best of" and you know we tend to agree quite a bit when it comes to Lebron discussions. I jumped on this one because I think the mentality is what starts the debates. Some let that mentality cloud their thoughts and really think he's the best of all these people... or even one of these people. Considering everything he can do, if he was equal to the best of any one of them (in addition to everything else he does well) he'd already be universally considered the greatest player ever. And that's why I think some people argue that he is.

Anyway, I think 24th Letter summed up what I meant perfectly...

jeebs, I think the cross DNA is a more accurate way of putting it... to an extent. But I think it's even better just to say he's Lebron. We've only seen one of him like we've only seen one Shaq. Trying to find what he has similar to others leaves room to show where he's not as good as well.

          The LeBron James Thread

Just got my ESPN mag, was looking over it...the rest of the questions asked to LeBrons peers were interesting...

85% would take half their salary to play with him

They think LeBrons skills are 58% natural talent, 42% hard work

71% would of made his same "Decision"

Those are the ones I remember off the top...

I'm surprised this isn't higher because his decision wasn't wrong or bad. It's the hoopla around it that was stupid.

But that's a discussion we've had numerous times in this very thread that I doubt anybody wants to rehash all over again(even though I guarantee we will at least once before the season is over haha).

Not sure who this group of peers includes, but 88% saying they would take half their salary to play with him is a huge number. Unless the league is a little less money-hungry than I imagined.

Slightly off originally, it was 85% not 88% lol

15% is still very high. I bet there is no other players that reach over 4%

ESPN asked 26 NBA Experts "If you could have one player to defend LeBron, whom would you choose?" 25% said Paul George, 18% said Metta World Peace, 14% said Kobe Bryant

                        Career stats vs Paul George:
Regular Season: 26.4 PTS, 5.9 AST, 8.3 REB
                        Playoffs: 29.5 PTS, 5.7 AST, 8.9 REB

Career stats vs Metta World Peace:
Regular Season: 26.8 PTS, 6.5 AST, 6.7 REB
                        Playoffs: None

                        Career stats vs Kobe Bryant:
Regular Season: 27.9 PTS, 7.3 AST, 7.7 REB
                        Playoffs: None

Thoughts? I'd personally take Metta over PG, PG is too small, LeBron doesn't do so great against strong physical opponents. Also surprised nobody said Al Faruq Aminu, underrated defender.

Why an "expert" would choose Kobe is beyond me

Metta World Peace is more than questionable too.
