Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
Not 100% on this at all...So anybody feel free to correct me who KNOWS for SURE. But this is what I've gathered from people here on OS...
They have money now to sign two Max deals.
They have Eddy Curry's contract, which they can use as trade bait, as people would want his expiring and all the dough that comes with it.
They can sign someone for the MLE.
They can sign someone for the veterans minimum (T-Mac anyone...)
So they would be able to pick up Bron and Bosh. In addition to about 3 or 4 other pieces. To go along with solid players in Douglas, Gallo and Chandler.
I think that's what the thinking is...But, like I said, I'm not 100% on it. So...
As for TMagic's post, if the cap comes to 56 million as projected they will have enough to keep 4-5 players and sign a couple max players and have a tiny bit of room to spare.
NY will not have the MLE at all, they will have to renounce it to sign those max players.
Eddy Curry is trade bait, but who will take him?
They still will be able to sign any players at the minimum contract levels, if anyone will accept them.
As for a Lee sign and trade while adding another max player, I'm pretty sure it will work someway like this:
-Renounce enough players and exemptions so that they can sign a max guy (Harrington, Mobley, and some other players will probably do the trick)
-Sign one max guy (say, LBJ)
-Sign Lee to some contract (since they didn't renounce him they should be able to sign him for a contract that will bring them over the cap due to his bird rights if they still have them)
-Trade Lee and whatever else is needed to bring in another max player
That's my best effort at Lee sign and trade possibilities.Comment

I hope he goes to Chicago. New York would be cool too, but Chicago is my favorite team in the East so I'd go with that.
If NJ got the #1 pick and took Wall, the idea of LBJ going there would be verrry interesting. Talk about your all-time turnaround. They would be one of the best teams in the league, IMO.Comment

Also Hakeem was extremely skilled, did things a guard could do, had post moves, and was also on top of that one of the best defensive players in the league at the time. I don't see how Pau's skillset is close to that.
Given, Pau is a really good player. Still though I would not take Pau over Webber or Garnett in their prime.Comment

What can Pau do now that Garnett or Webber could not do in their primes?

Re: The Official where is LeBron going thread
Garnett maybe. C-Webb? Thats a joke. Dude was ultra talented, but he was also mentally weak (Timeout!) and shrunk in big spots. Also, those guys didn't have the size/bulk to play center like Gasol does now, except if they went with a small lineup. Gasol can play the 4 or the 5 equally well, depending on the matchup.Comment
