Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
I honestly don't see how Miami is a good spot right now. Mario Chalmers is the only guy under contract as of right now after they got rid of Jones. If they make this trade you have only Bosh under contract and basically use up all your cap space on Wade and Bron. Who exactly is going to play on this team? The big three in Boston had SOMETHING on the team after Garnett and crew, who are these guys going to play with at this point?Comment

Pat Riley just massively owned BC though. Take his pick, gets J.O.'s expiring and now takes Bosh from us.

I don't know if Miami would still pursue LBJ if this is true though."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

None of them are locked in beyond next year and they're solid young players.
Who knows, maybe a change of scenery will turn Supercool into the player we thought he'd be.Comment

Yeah, I think that if they had Bosh and Wade, the rest of the salary would be much better spent on good 3-8 than on another great player.Comment

And give Miami an unprotected top 5 pick in 2015 or whenever it is.
Beasley would come to Toronto, unlearn the little he knows about defense, shoot 15 jumpers a game, then get a 10 million per year contract.Comment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
True, but it's not like Wade is exactly the model of health. If he's injured at some point during the year, is Bron, Bosh and a team full of MLE guys really an attractive title contender? Especially considering the arguments against the Knicks and Bulls are about the squads missing key role players.Comment

Kidding of course. Although I think he could develop into a nice role player at some point, I honestly don't think ED will ever average more than 10 and 5. He's like the homeless man's Bosh."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
Lebrno and Wade are great scorers and passers, but neither is exceptional at catching and shooting. Sadly, Bosh is probably the best of the three at catching and shooting. Now that makes him great as a complement when those guys penetrate, but it's not a good look for him when he's in the post. Chalmers is a solid 3 point shooter, so that helps some, but if you're Miami, it's smarter to spend that "3rd max guy" money on spot up shooters, defenders and rebounders. You could make a bomb squad with that money, but blowing it on 3 guys is an interesting choice.
This is a team that potentially gets beat on the glass and has a weak interior defensive presence, but also doesn't have the shooters to compensate in terms of pace and spreading the floor. A team like Phoenix doesn't need individual rebounders as badly because with the floor spread, they can put rebounders out of position. With Bron/Bosh/Wade, the potential problem is most of the offense is close to the rim, so the bigs will have to do a lot of the rebounding.
All three players are great defensive rebounders, but you are talking about two perimeter guys, so there is nothing any of them could do to stop a guy like Dwight, or a pair like Gasol/Odom from doing the Mikan drill in the playoffs. And the thing is, the Heat have the money to spend on someone to get roleplayers who can spread the floor and be big bodies.Comment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
LOL at the reporters on tv suggesting how teams can try to go after Bosh first and treat it like he's they're number one target and LeBron was just a thought just in case they don't get him and they wanted Bosh all along. As if Bosh is an idiot or something and doesn't know that teams first priority is LeBron James.
BTW, programming alert. NBATV is showing Mavs vs. Heat Game 6 right now, next is Boston vs Miami Game 4 of this year, then Cavs vs. Wizards OT playoff game from 06, followed by Cavs vs Pistons, Game 5 from 07 and LeBron's 48 point game. Great programming choices by NBATV today on countdown day.Comment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
I can see and understand that side of things, but we are talking about two of the three best players in the entire league (and IMO, the two best) being on the same team. The match up problems that would be created would be insane, especially when you throw Bosh in there."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
