LeBron an Wade are two of the best players in the league because they can dominate games, create instant offense for their teams, and pretty much score at will. The problem is they can only do this if they get the touches they need from the ball. Both Lebron and Wade need the ball to play at their superstar levels. Both of them can't have the ball at the same time.

He came off the bench but was the best player on Team USA in Bejing. He was ridiculous out there."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
Let's say Miami gets Wade, James, and Bosh. Does this mean they will most likely have to trade Beasley? And that they will have basically no one on their roster? So wouldn't that mean that they'd only have the minimum left to fill out their bench and starting line-up. I honestly don't think, if this is the case, that they'd win it all with that team. You need a bench, a good point guard, and a better front court to win. L.A.'s front court would eat Bosh + fill-in center alive. Who could possibly guard Dwight Howard? Nobody. I honestly think that this team wouldn't win the championship and would become the great dissapointment in NBA history.
James and Bosh should go to Chicago, to have a better chance IMO.I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.Comment

So you're saying Wade should come off the bench? And as mentioned before Team USA cant be compared to Miami. In Miami, Wade, LeBron, and Bosh are the team. Team USA had a lot more talent on itComment

I believe the only thing they would have to fill out the roster is the MLE, the veterans thing, and minimum salaries.
I don't see how that would create a contender. Players will take the MLE to chase rings. I don't see them taking half a million for a ring.Comment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
Let's assume the starting salary for Bron, Wade and Bosh is 16 million this season for each.
That's 48 million right there.
Assuming the Cap is at 56 million they would still have 8 million left to fill out their roster.
Say they fill it out with two players who cost 4 million each, they would now be able to use the MLE, since they are over the cap. Now they can fill out the roster with minimums and veteran exceptions.
Did I get this right?Comment

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
Honestly, I don't know off hand what the 1st year salary is for players who sign with new teams or players who sign with their current team then are traded. So I'm kinda just using a random number. I'm sure it's somewhere between 16 and 18 million.Comment

If you are under the cap, you lose the exceptions. Only have vet minimums to use. Also, you can't go from under the cap to over it, then have the MLE to use. YOu lose that once you are far enough under the cap.
Max contracts for Wade/LBJ/Bosh start at 16.57 million.Last edited by Kully; 06-30-2010, 12:29 PM.Comment

No one is debating their individual production either, it's if Miami can win a title with Wade + Bosh + LBJ."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread
Brian Windhorst, the Cavs beat writer, thinks LeBron will re-sign with the Cavs based on what he knows about LeBron's personality and LeBron's connections to Northeast Ohio. However, he did say he wouldn't bet his house on it.
I'll put more stock in what Windhorst thinks since he's been covering LeBron for 10 years than some national writer who may not even know LeBron personally. I just hope he's right...Comment
