Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread

Yeah, I'm not from New York and can't really speak for how they view things, but it isn't the Mecca of Basketball for nothing. Just the idea of Rucker Park and what that place means around the country should tell you about New York's stance on basketball. I mean, how many neighborhood basketball courts in the US are known throughout the country?

LeFraud could NEVER, I repeat NEVER, handle the pressure of playing in New York and/or Chicago (following Jordan's legacy).

Dude is a media wh*re and he will milk this for as long as he can and then eventually he will resign with Cleveland (where they will worship him no matter how many times he quits and fails to lead the Cavs into the Finals).

He will go down as this generation's 'Charles Barkley.'

This "Mecca of Basketball" garbage is only talked about in New York by ignorant and arrogant New Yorkers.

The Knickerbockers haven't done squat since 1973. Mecca my A**!!!

This sounds like people saying he would never and i repeat never live up to the hype after he was drafted in 03, and I think he handled that pressure pretty well

Couple things here. Firstly sorry to hear about that coma you were in in 2007, must've sucked. Secondly, I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say you're a Kobe fan? Usually the only people that speak of LeBron with such hate are Kobe fans who can't stand the fact people say LeBron is better than him now or something similar. As for New York and the basketball Mecca everyone, EVERYONE knows New York's basketball legacy and it's not because of the Knicks winning or losing. Can't call yourself a basketball fan and not know that. I'm not even a huge fan of New York City and I acknowledge the city's basketball heritage.

For some reason I notice alot of people who like the Giants also like the Rangers.

But some people flip-flop the Yanks and Mets when the Mets are winning.
Yeah It's funny how most Jets fans are Isles fans as well as Mets fans.

I'm a Giants fan and my team is the Rangers.

Those are all the Long Island teams which is why that's the case. Obviously the Jets aren't anymore, but the previous generation grew up with those teams on Long Island (or close). Yeah, Flushing is in Queens but the ratio of Met:Yankee fans is more in the Mets favor on Long Island than in the boroughs.

My old man grew up in Nassau County....Jet/Met fan. Yanks/Giants are the "City" teams, Jets/Mets are more of the Long Island teams.

Ignorance is a wonderful thing. The "Mecca" is in regards to a hell of a lot more than the just the NBA.

I'm a huge Laker /Kobe fan, and I love LeBron's game. I genuinely like the guy as well. I do not see your logic there, sorry.
