I loved Ozzie Guillen's comment on why LaBron should come to Chicago.

"You want to see something very nice, you win in Chicago.....Half the '85 Bears are dead and they still root for them. Every '85 Bear goes out and eats for free every day."

It was funny because it's so true. If you played for the '85 Bears you never pay for anything here and you'll never have a problem finding a job.

Lets be real, the Knicks did not spend 2 years waiting for this day to not be prepared. And Lebron is not going to choose someone because they were "edgier." He may very well have little to no interest in the Knicks, but I really doubt its because the Knicks had a bad presentation.

It all went south when Dolan dropped his note cards and saw the girl he liked in the back of the room.

Doesn't matter anyway. I've said all along that Lebron isn't coming to the Knicks, and that it's not the end of the world. The Knicks have the money and management to put together a full team that can be very competitive for years to come. Almost no matter what, the Knicks were not going to put together a team that was going to beat the Lakers. So that automatically puts you on a 2-4 year plan, rather than a 1 year plan. As long as Walsh spends all of the money wisely, New York will be in good shape. Amar'e is a nice start. I'm on the fence with Felton. Depends on the price. If they sign him for cheap, then great. We can use that in the future and in the meantime maybe he'll benefit from D'Antoni's system.

Not sure how many are interested, but apparently here is the power point presentation NY used to show his earning power: http://blogs.forbes.com/sportsmoney/...artner%3Dmsnbc

The hate for the Knicks this offseason has been legendary.

Knicks Dispute They're Out Of LeBron Hunt, Suggest Ulterior Motives

              Jul 02, 2010 7:22 PM EST

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports went on the air with Michael Kay on ESPN Radio to discuss points he made in a story Wojnarowski published Friday.

In that story, Wojnarowski wrote that the Knicks had been virtually eliminated from the race to sign LeBron James and that he and his camp were unimpressed with New York's presentation.
Shortly after the segment with Wojnarowski, a representative of the Knicks called Kay to refute the Wojnarowski story and the claims made by his sources. Further the Knicks suggested that someone may be attempting to undermine their chances to sign James. The team insisted that its presentation to James on Thursday was successful and apparently well received.

In addition, Wojnarowski reports that James was turned off by Donnie Walsh's need to use a wheelchair after a medical procedure on his neck, and that James was similarly deflated by owner James Dolan's appearance.
There have been rumblings in recent days that those closest to James are concerned about him playing for the Knicks and what implications that might hold for the power balance around the superstar. There have been some indications that Maverick Carter, James' closest friend, is opposed to a move to the Knicks.

However, the status of Wojnarowski's anonymous sources is unclear since he only generically cites "sources" but does not indicate their position in relation to James, or their particular knowledge of James' reactions to the presentations he received on Thursday.

I'm very surprised by it. Fans of all teams have come out with some serious hate. I get it for Nets, Bulls, Pacers and Celtics, fans, since there is a history there, but I really don't understand it from everyone else. Some guys on here practically cried when Amar'e signed, prayed when they heard Wade was "intrigued" and immediately started looking for the cons to signing one of the best offensive forwards in the league, and the most experienced person on the market in running in D'Anotni's system.

It surprises me, because as guys are quick to remind you, the Knicks have been a bad team for a whole decade. Very rarely do I see a bad team get so much hate. Many people really, really don't want the Knicks to be a good team.

Yup, it really makes no sense. It's not like the Knicks are the Yankees and have abundant reasons to be hated. People hate the Knicks because they hate NYC, that's pretty much it.

It's gotta be more than that, because I don't see the Giants get this kind of hate, and they're a team consistently in the playoff/superbowl hunt.

I don't really see it like that.

I see five distinct classes of players.

                          Tier One: Lebron

Tier Two: The worthwhile max deal guys (Bosh and Wade)

Tier Three: I can has max contract? (Boozer, Lee, Amare, Joe Johnson, and Gay)

Tier Four: The veterans who can round out a championship team with IQ and shooting (Blake, Mike Miller type of guys)

Tier Five: I can still play in the NBA!?!? (Gooden, Amir, those guys)

Tier three and five players are going to take whatever they are offered. However, the worthwhile players aren't signing yet. Teams like Chicago and Jersey already have solid casts so Lebron signing with either makes them a favorite. New York and Miami are the only two that need to do something soon.

Giants fans don't claim that Peyton Manning, Randy Moss, and Darrelle Revis are all going to sign with the Giants because IT'S NEW YORK BABY!!!!

Plus there's also the comedy factor of the Knicks tanking for half a decade for one offseason and then not even getting the players they tanked for.

I don't know about NY, but Miami don't have enough dough to sign 2 stars AND a supporting cast. So if Miami signs 2 stars, the other 3 going to be minumum paid salary scrubs. Lebron don't want that, that is worse then staying in cleveland.

Chicago is the favorite and they would be on lock if Wade signs, then Lebron would definitely go to Chicago. Rose, Wade, Lebron, Deng & Noah ? Hell that is one hell of a scoring squad.
