It may be, but it's not in the same ballpark as Chicago, Miami or New York - especially when you're a bagillionaire. The reason Bosh didn't want to go to the Cavs was because.....it's Cleveland.

I cannot really say what guys like Bird, Magic and Jordan would do. But superstars back then were as 'self-centered' as they are now. They may have done it in a different way BUT players back then were media whores. Bird not so much because he hated the media BUT Magic would throw his face in front of a camera the second he got the chance. HE EVEN DOES IT NOW!

This is not nothing new. it's just different.
Didn't Jordan wait until the middle of September to resign one year and sign for the biggest single year in NBA history?

They could've gotten Trevor Ariza last summer (a huge upgrade over Anthony Parker) if LeBron had committed to the Cavs. There's also LeBron's mail-it-in performance in Game 5 of the Celtics series.
There's plenty of blame to go around if he leaves (especially on former GM Jim Paxson), but LeBron definitely does not escape it.
those are all valid points. they did what they could but lebron needs a superstar. jamison is a solid player (ariza too), but they need a superstar. no one is going to worry about jamison getting perhaps a 20 point game. lebron needs someone who can draw a consistent double team and open the lane. it's not necessarily about points as much as it is about impact. gasol is great example.

I'd imagine for a millionaire, it doesn't really matter where you live.

Then why isn't Bosh a Cav right now?

Broussard is pretty adament about Miami. He says Chicago 2 and Cleveland 3rd.

Man I'm ready for training camp now.

Given that the Cavs are over the cap, it could very well have come down to the trade terms. Cleveland clearing 17 million that Toronto would want would be pretty difficult.

Yes he did. I don't think he made a media spectacle out of it. Even though he probably was upset it took the Bulls this long to actually pay him for what he was actually worth. Up to that point, Jordan was never the highest paid player in the league. It took him 12 seasons to get there. 12 SEASONS! Patrick Ewing became the highest paid player in the league by his 3rd year.

how can anyone not say it's an indictment on the city when bosh could have played with probably the best or second best player in the league and got a 125 mill?

                            Indictment of what, exactly?

Have you seen the price of jet fuel in this economy? Besides that, I'm pretty sure most the countries millionaires are in New York, Los Angeles and Arizona. If you're a millionaire, yeah, it kinda does matter where you live.
