No, he got little love because Dirk, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett were still in their primes, and much better than him at the time. Even after he joined the Lakers, he had to make big strides defensively, and with the ability to maintain position on the blocks. These are things that many other big men, PFs and Cs alike were better than him at. Pau was a good player, even a very good player, but not a GREAT player.

Dwyane Wade is a GREAT player. An MVP candidate. A top 3 talent. It's a little different. It's also different leaving YOUR team to joing an MVP candidate, rather than having player be traded to your team.

I NEVER heard anyone say Bosh got "little love". Hell, if anything Bosh has probably gotten more love from most folks THAN Gasol and still does to this day.

        I agree with Born though.

In the 7 years before Pau joined the Lakers (including his first year) he made 1 All Star team and no All NBA teams.

Sure he averaged 20 and 9.8 but it was on a 22 win team.

Duncan, Dirk, Bosh, Brand, KG, and Boozer were all unanimously considered better than Pau. Throw in Amare if you consider him a PF.

Antawn was generally considered better, especially when the trade actually happened and he was carrying the Wizards and averaging 21 and 10.

Looks like I was wrong about NY. I don't see any other way anyone could say this isn't proof of where his is going.

EDIT: Looks like I'm late. I am sure he meant LBJ.

                    7. Pau Gasol, Memphis: If he weren't out until after New Year's, he would have received heavy consideration to move up on this list. He earned that right, blossoming into one of the NBA's best 7-footers. But that broken foot really casts a shadow over the upcoming season, considering the uncertainty over his projected recovery period.

Bron James? Looks like he missed the L. Either way he's a Cleveland reporter. Not sure what all this means but why would LBJ change everything to Chicago before making announcement on Thursday?

Unless it's a smoke screen and they're creating more drama for NY and Cleveland fans which isn't cool as it is in Chicago's expense. We've already been played by Wade, no need to be played by LBJ as well.

Pau had virtually identical numbers to Tim in 07-08, and had slightly inferior numbers to KG and Dirk.
